What are Lakers paying old coaches? And new options to replace Byron?

    They wouldn't allow it I'm sure til the offseason. He HAS been their head coach, and no guarantee Kerr will be a regular the rest of the year.

    How is that defined exactly?

    446-617 won/loss record

    It seems like he's (617-446) = 171 games below .500 to me

    85.5 x 2 = 171, so I guess I'm looking at it wrong.

    I guess I'd rather say 171 to emphasize his level of suck.

    Our coach could have Two consecutive 82-0 seasons in a row, and still have a losing coaching record for his career.

    My understanding is its up to the team to allow you to talk to their coaches mid season but the team usually does if its in the case of an assistant upgrading to head coach. Example, Alvin Gentry during the playoffs.

    Update: 94 vs. 86 now. Byron is sprinting toward that mark. At this pace, Byron will get there on April 3rd, against the C Bags.

    I'm not sure how I feel about that. I know Blatt got a raw deal and was run out by what amounts to bullies, but we have now gone with three coaches like him.

    I'm really hoping they go with fresh blood. Luke is my choice.

    I'd need to do more research with Blatt. He wasn't blameless with this Cavs situation. He made some mistakes.

    Three ex-LeBron coaches, too.

    I'm going to get a bit crazy. I would like to see us pursue Luke, but I think we should give strong consideration to Becky Hammon if she would be willing.

    What young coach (who's completely new to the NBA) doesn't make mistakes? He was trying to install some winning habits to this Cleveland team, but LeBron has to do it his way. If he had stayed in Miami I'm pretty sure he would've eventually gotten Spoelstra fired.

    I wouldn't hire Blatt if not for the mere fact that it would be 3 of our last 4 hired coaches would come from the pool of coaches that CLEVELAND FIRED. I, like others, feel he got a somewhat raw deal in Cleveland. But you have to think where there is smoke there is some fire. Whether it was his inability to manage egos, implement a system that maximized his player's strengths, or if players just flat out didn't like the guy, those are all reasons not to hire him. Our next pick needs to be inspired and bold. Luke Walton fits that mold.

    Anybody listen to Mason and Ireland lately? I heard this from another forum member. Mason and Ireland were discussing a coaching change and Ireland said that there is a 'faction' within the Lakers organization that feel Scott hasn't gotten a fair chance since this is Kobe's KFT. I'm wondering if anybody can confirm this?

    I just can't hear crap like that. If we waste another year with Byron, as I said before, I might have to turn in my Lakers card. And I've had that thing for about 38 years now.
