Definitely. More and more he looks like a big doofy body to bring off the bench... It's not for lack of effort, but he literally cannot run and gun in this league. He doesn't seem to have the confidence in his own offense to even take the shots that are given to him. I'd like him back as our big man off the bench, but we need to look in other directions this summer.
I think that's the right move. Kobe can still play, but he had his time for international tournaments, he probably doesn't deserve to take a spot from one of the younger guys here.
While I'll always admire Kobe's drive and will, I really think he needs to sit out the next week or so and see how he feels after that. It just makes no sense to keep messing with that other achilles. Recipe for a disaster. I want to see him play in the All Star Game (if only for a few minutes) and I'd love it if he could play the last game of the season. If this thing goes in the next bunch of games because he's pushing it, it'll be really sad.
http://espn.go.com/blog/los-angeles...ses-jerry-west-on-lakers-all-time-assist-list More assists than anyone not named Magic in a Lakers uniform. Not bad for a "ball hog."
Kobe is one of the best non PGs passers of these latest 20 years ... The "problem" has never been related to skills : -Often struggled to find the balance between passing and scoring - There were stretches where he decided he was only going to pass (or shoot) regardless of the reaction of the opponent D
I'm sad that I don't care about the records he's breaking anymore. This team sucks and I've lost enthusiasm even for the small things. Let's go Rams!
Haven't read yet. Kobe talks about playing against Jordan in his last All Star game and things shared and said. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/kobe-b...all-star-game-honor-approaches-200717893.html
The first time Gerald Henderson met Kobe. http://www.theplayerstribune.com/gerald-henderson-guarding-kobe-bryant/
Have to watch this. But just seeing his girls' pic reminds me of how one or both seem so uninterested in what Pops is doing out on the floor when one of the cameras catches them and Vanessa on the sidelines after Kobe has pulled some vintage Kobe off on the floor this year, in this his last season, the rare times it happens. This is why DAR is Kobe's adopted son. He f****** needs a son, like Shaq has 2 of ..... that is interested in and wants to be in the NBA..... and who he can tell is going to have "IT" and because of that, Kobe is in his ear constantly about what it takes to be a dominant alpha dog.
I dunno, hard to follow in the footsteps of a great like Kobe when it comes to the NBA. Look at Jordan's sons, impossible act to follow their father.
Damn that was a good read. Never thought much about Gerald Henderson other than him being a solid player, but you could always tell he enjoyed going against Kobe. Also, Kobe could tell when a rim is a quarter of an inch too low? That's nuts, that's a peek into what separates pro athletes from the rest of us.
Thanks for the posting the article by Henderson and backstage video. I really enjoyed watching/reading those. I'm going to miss Kobe when he retires.
