Just retire man. It's not worth it. Don't blow out another Achilles. He is not gonna make it to the end of the season. If he insists on continuing this madness then just shut it down till the All Star Break. Play in the game and then shut I down again until the finale and play in the final game. That's the only way I see him making it. I believe Chuck did the same thing when he was with Houston. I don't want his final memory in the NBA being limping off once again/
If Kobe's going to be this stubborn and Boron is going to be this dumb, then maybe it's time for Kobe to bust his right achilles and call it a day. At least then this season can go back to being about the development of our young guys (which it always should have been about) and not the farewell tour.
If Kobe suffers a severe injury before his last all-star game, then he'll have no one to blame but himself.
Scott probably just told him that he needs to man up. Kobe's as stubborn as they come. But you think he'd pull this s*** if Phil was in that seat? I don't.
He has called Phil for advice on how to approach this entire year. Wish he would have called him on this one, too. But the main point being, you are absolutely right. Phil hasn't been his coach for what 5 years now, but he's still listening to him and seeking out his word.
As much as I don't like Byron, this is on Kobe. He knows the risk. I think Byro My thoughts exactly. The guy who called Kobe's bluff years ago about being traded is not with us any longer...
Whoever decides Kobe shouldn't sit it's on them when his season ends short again. This is the wrong time to be stubborn Kobe and the wrong time to be stupid Byron.
The Los Angeles Kobes , ladies and gentlemen ! Same s*** different day for three seasons ... Kobe is as stubborn and delusional as ever and our organization doesn't do s*** about it ... Hopefully he's still retiring in case of season ending injury Would be a disaster otherwise
Yeah... I don't get it. People want to see Kobe for the last time. they pay exorbitant prices for the ticket and they voice their displeasure (quite selfishly, I might add). It is only natural for Kobe to want to play if he physically can. Vitti, for all we know, may be covering his behind, to not be the one who ended the career of a legend. Twice. Where were you, Gary, when D'Antony ran Kobe into the ground? A little too late now. Anyway, I don't care. Kobe can play if he wants. As long as our moron of a coach doesn't do something silly in addition, it would have no impact on absolutely anything.
The next game Kobe is going to play, Byron is going to play him the entire first quarter to make up for the time he missed.
Apparently Byron is going to ignore Gary Vitti's recommendation for Kobe resting a couple weeks. If Kobe says he can play, then Byron is going to let him. And I thought Damphony was a goofball.
