Um . . . not even sure what to say about Boron at this point. He's the worst coach I've ever seen.

Yikes. Kobe's been acting like his self with his old ferocity in the key area just banging to create space and going for it. If that other achilles is now somewhat compromised ..... how long and how much will it be on his mind. He has to desperately want to get through this season with no major injuries and most certainly doesn't want another ruptured achilles on the other side. Hope Vitti and crew can help it get better and monitor accurately with his feedback to allow that.

If Byron truly in the FO's eyes is just here through the end of this season and will be fired when Kobe hangs them up, and because of his stupidity god forbid he breaks Kobe and ends his season and career, he should be fired on the spot both for punishment and because that plan no longer exists.

This confirms nothing can't happen to the tank commander this season .

Boron is untouchable and by saying this stupid crap he's well aware of it

It's typical in Achilles tears for there to be discomfort/injuries with the other Achilles.

The doctors, trainers, and therapists who work for the Lakers know this. I'm positive if Kobe told them his Achilles was tight, they warned Byron.

Didn't the same thing happen last year with the shoulder injury? Didn't Byron say he knew about it way earlier but didn't think it was that bad and played Kobe into the ground?

So Kobe is back tonight, which I don't get, but ok. Seems to me the kind of injury you don't want to push, but I'm no doctor. Sure this season doesn't mean anything and Kobe's only real goal I'd imagine is to finish his last game standing and healthy, but play with a sore achilles, sure, seems smart. I guess I'll be tuning into every single game for sure now that I know he is playing because you don't know if one of those games is his last if that thing snaps.

So yeah, definitely smart to play him this game.. I guess even someone who isn't a doctor can give a common sense opinion. Maybe our whole medical staff AND coaching staff need to be replaced.

They're gonna have Kobe playing the last game of the season in a wheelchair at this rate. Thanks Byron!

Kobe isn't going to play in his final game at this rate. Is it so hard to manage his mins correctly. Byron has been bad about it since last season. No reason he should still be playing 30 mins at this point, unless you want to piss off fans whole spent a lot of money on tickets to see him in a suit.

Kobe deserves some blame as well. He obviously told them it was okay for him to go. He should know better than to push himself with Achilles soreness. Yes it'd be nice if our head coach had a pair to tell Kobe to sit, but that's not the case.

@Weezy is right though it's not just the coach. We have an entire medical staff that I know the Lakers spend millions of dollars on collectively. We have a world renowned physical therapist, Gary Vitti has been in this industry for over 30 years, their trainers are top notch and ahead of the curve.

At least one of them needs to be strong enough to tell Kobe "no". Kobe's goal is to play as many games as possible, well if you're trying to play as many games as possible, THIS game is unimportant. SOMEONE in the organization needs to have enough of a backbone to tell Kobe he cannot play that day.

Am I the only one that's tired of this farewell tour already? None of them seem capable of doing it right... just retire. Can't believe how ignorant they all are.

So, when he blows out his right Achilles, don't say we weren't warned...

    Then shut him down.

The trainer says shut Kobe down for two weeks.

Byron claims to care about Kobe going out right and healthy.

What the f*** is so hard about listening to him?

If Kobe refuses to sit when doctors have advised him too, well I guess if he gets badly injured he ends his career very Kobe-like. Incredibly stubborn to the end and going out on his own terms, playing through injury. I think it's stupid, but like real said, apparently no one has the backbone to tell him "no" for his own good. That or they don't want to tell him no and see ticket sales decline for a couple weeks, I don't even know anymore.
