Wes Johnson? Yuck. Such a poor IQ and understanding on defense. He'd get by with his physical tools (long wingspan, leaper), but he was constantly lost, out of position, and fundamentally poor on the defensive end. I think where Brown can and will be better is in the IQ department and with a better understanding for playing better fundamental defense..i.e. knowing where to be positioned, knowing the opposition's tendencies, etc. Let's hope he continues to improve...
Bump. Good game by Brown. Made some shots and played good defense. Over all best game I've seen him play.
That was his best NBA game. Very good effort. He played better than Young tonight, and although Nick hasn't played much and got little time so I'm sure he's out of rhythm, he took some stupid shots. Maybe time to shop Nick again.
With that kind of offensive contribution and what he did on defense, he'd be a great bench player. Now let's build off this. I want to see if he can keep "jacking off threes" now that he has the confidence of a good game under his belt.
That'd be quite a talent. But yes, as down as I've been on him, if he keeps improving that D, and can hit those open shots, he can be a bench player. He has the NBA body, the height, the length, he's not slow, for me it's actually making the shots and making an impact out there. He can't be Mr Invisible, he has to contribute out there.
I've liked what I've seen from Anthony recently. His defense has been excellent. One of the few on this team. Starting to knock down some shots and be an offensive threat. If he keeps developing he can perhaps be that SF 3 & D player we're looking for. Great size, length, lateral quickness, awareness. I like this guy's defensive attributes.
Finally seeing some confidence out there from crazy eyes. Admittedly I'm not really watching games, but CaChooka has kept me up to date on his successful offensive possessions and the few times I tune in he's developing nicely defensively. I still don't know if he's an NBA player, but he doesn't look like a waste of roster space anymore at least.
I'm glad to see Brown accorded playing time and being productive. He's not comparable to that airhead SF who shall remain nameless. Brown can be a serviceable role player.
Just once this season, I would like to see Black-Randle-Brown-JC-Russell on the floor at the same time. I realize it has the potential to get ugly, but it'd be cool to see what kind of energy they would all play with knowing it's kind of "The Kids Against the World."
Mr Invisible out there. His playing times are so strange. He rarely plays but when Kobe is out he gets the starting job.
Searches for his footing? I feel for him because I'm searching for that too. He's a less stupid, but perhaps even more ineffective Wes Johnson. Wes was so stupid he didn't even know better than to take shots at times. Brown is too scared to even take a shot. I see no confidence from this kid out there. I've seen him play in the D-League and at times he looks like an NBA player. Then he gets these random starts and he looks like some open gym guy that found his way into the NBA somehow.
