A few years ago Brandon guarded LeBron in the East Finals when he was with Boston. He's been solid everywhere he's been. Dallas, Boston, Orlando, and now with the Lakers. Just one of those guys you wanna keep around. Very good basketball player and good team guy. I'd resign him without any hesitation. Yes we have Larry and Julius, but he will help and push those guys and provides excellent depth.

I know Russ and JC brought us back with the scoring but like Stu said about looking at the box score and stats. What Bass did tonight you can't see in the box score. The hustle, energy, and tenacity on defensive was tremendous!

I'm going to say it, maybe against my better judgement, but still . . . I'd like to see Bass start along with the kids and Kobe next game and maybe from now on. He's no center, but he's working hard and Hibby just doesn't look so good out there. Maybe bring Hibby off the bench for a while along with Nance Lou and Swaggy.

I hope he will pick his option up and we will send and leave Kelly somewhere in the Pacific

True. He reminds me Carlos and Antawn the way he handles himself (i mean, i would punch a dumb coach like these guys had a "pleasure" to work with as a Lakers).

I don't disagree, but Bass is a vet who should be playing, not sitting behind 2 youngsters in Randle and Nance. Some team could use him at PF, and I think he'd prefer to play than be a practice guy and bench mentor.

And to your point, LJ, as bad as Hibbert was, I still don't like Bass at C or starting there. He is not a C at all, as admirable as he play has been lately and all the blocks he's gotten. Most games he and Randle starting together would get exposed on D, I think Sacto just didn't use a traditional PF or great rebounding one so we got away with it in the end tonight. Most games you'd see those 2 starting result in a lot of defensive lapses and offensive rebounds given up. At the same time I get what you're getting at though, Bass can run with the young guys and Kobe better than Hibbert, and he has probably been better than him on D lately.

Bass would be a great fit on this team going forward though.

I agree but with Randle and Nance, I just don't see a fit for him because he's definitely not a C.

Would love to have his though because he's a great professional and can help lead our young guns

I'd have a frank convo with him and ask what he wants. If he wants to leave, we can absolutely find a trade that works for both parties. There's some teams making playoff pushes that'd love to have him.

But if he feels like he wants to be part of the roster we're trying to build here, then I'd love to keep him around. He goes about his business the right way. Is always ready to play when his number is called and right now he's as locked in defensively as you could ever ask somebody to be.

All of his great play recently has been at back-up center, right?

I'd keep Bass. He gives you 100% every time, that'll keep our young guys on their toes.

He was a key part of the run yesterday, he was every where on the defensive side.

I like Bass a lot and I said so when we got him. I thought he was a great pickup. But with the rapid development of Nance and Bass playing Center I say sell high! Trade him while he has good value on a cheap contract and let him go to a playoff team so he can do well.

Yeah, I can go either way. I was always a fan of his so very disappointed at what I saw early on. He's turned things around completely though. Just solid all around play even when it doesn't show in the box score. If he was okay with it, I'd love to have him for cheap as a situational roleplayer and just overall depth. I'd also be okay with trading him right now if we can get an asset.

Bass is a man who goes about his business. He just needed to be given time. He's really a 4 but with Randle and Nance there, he's the odd man out. I'd love to see him with Black at the 4 and 5 respectively for spells.

I'm glad Bass is coming into his own. He's a good fit for us but I don't know if he feels the same way.

Did you guys see his interview when we played at Boston? He sounded like he genuinely missed the guys and missed playing in Boston and didn't seem relatively as upbeat when he was talking about his season as a Laker. I hope he doesn't leave us and hopefully he keeps getting minutes.
