As you said it was your dream ... as we hoped Kobe would be a floor spacer for the young players and would mainly become a catch and shoot guy ...

Not happening and I'm not going to blame Boron for this ...

I think Byron deserves a lot of that blame. Sure Kobe came into the season doing whatever he wanted, but it's on Byron to enforce the correct choices. He does it with impunity with the kids, but Kobe is literally allowed to do whatever he wants. That's not coaching. I know Kobe will likely do whatever he wants anyway, but if you give him situations to succeed, if you do your job well, he'll want to thrive in the role you provide for him.

Besides, not every offensive set would be a fast break. He'd still get mid-post opportunities once we came into the half-court sets.

Sure but how many current coaches in the league would succeed in doing this with Kobe for a full season ?

Even if it happens just some of the time, it's better than it never happening. All you can do is provide a blueprint for success and leave it up to them to follow it. Sure Kobe would go off script probably 50% of the time, but still better than 100% improve that we see.

Lou to start I think? Both started at SG, so I'd assume. But with all the screens he gets and runs around it really doesn't matter, have to play team D on him or he'll kill you, and we don't have team D largely because our coach can't coach.

I imagine that's how he looks when he wakes up in the morning. I can't even imagine what he must look like when he gets truly frightened or surprised, he must have to close his eyes tight and cover them with both palms to keep them from flying out of his head at high speed. Eh, he seems like a nice kid, I'm just having some fun. But seriously, plenty of ball players make a nice career overseas or even in the D-League, Brown could definitely do that. And if not, hell he graduated from Stanford, he'll do fine.

Lol, thank God that i missed the game. When you watch a game recap on the NBA app and there's not a single highlight/play made by your team, you just know it was beyond BAD :giggle:

A big $%#@ off to the idiot caught on TV switching from a Lakers jersey to a Warriors one mid game. You should get banned from the arena for that.

I don't usually read Baxter Holmes because he is a vibrant Laker hater covering the Lakers, but I read his little article on Kupchak.

Kupchak saying that this season is about Kobe's retirement and how the young players will take a backseat to that. How we absolutely must capitulate to Kobe's whims and demands on this season as he goes out. He made a statement like the young guys are able to develop this season by making mistakes under Kobe's umbrella and that people will pay less attention to those mistakes while looking at Kobe.

What a crock of ****. What kind of stupid b******* is he trying to sell to us? He thinks that's going to sell free agents? We look like spineless morons giving in to the demands of Kobe like he's some untouchable godsend. Is this what we're selling this summer? Loyalty to a fault? Just two seasons ago I was in favor of Kobe's deal long-term because it showed the kind of faith we put in our players and the way we look out for our stars. This is taking that completely too far. This season shouldn't be about making Kobe happy. That enormous CONTRACT is what we did to make him happy. Now make YOURSELF happy. Make the FANS happy. Make the TEAM happy. F*** Kobe's farewell tour. I don't CARE anymore. I don't CARE that our core is young and will make mistakes. You think anyone of these kids is able to hide under Kobe's shadow away from criticism? Then why was Russell called a BUST two weeks into the season? Why were Clarkson and Randle left off of ESPN's Top 10 Sophomores in the NBA? There's no HIDING their faults just because people want to see Kobe. It all just makes us look even WORSE. Not only is Kobe effectively taking over every aspect of the Lakers, but the kids suck too. THAT is what we're selling to prospective FAs. That and the fact that we won't fire a coach even when he's the worst coach in all of basketball across the cosmos for WHAT? What reason is this guy here for?? He's not giving the kids minutes, he's not protecting Kobe, he's not fostering a winning attitude. GET HIM THE F*** OUT OF HERE.

I'm losing all faith in the Lakers, even Mitch. I can't stand this **** they're trying to sell us. It's insulting to my intelligence, my passion, and my time.
