    The impression I got was Butler was more of a Thibs fan and Rose was not, but I could have that wrong.

    He ran a short rotation which is ok for young players, but when you look at the condition of their vets that played under him, kind of wonder if he's a good fit for us.

    We saw what pulling a short rotation did to even the most conditioned athlete in the world under Dan Tony.

    I agree. While I think his basketball mind is amazing, his inability to pull back on the minutes could shorten the career of Russell, Randle and Clarkson. There are other coaches out there.

    Not gonna make excuses for Thibs as he did play his top guys way too many minutes, but looking back on some of those teams he coached, the middle-end of those rosters weren't very good to say the least. A lot of those players were either rookies, too old/injury prone or just not very good.

    I would hope with more talent he would expand the rotations a little bit.

    At this point, I really just want a proven commodity. Picking up an unknown unproven coach to grow with the young guys would have been a great idea in 2014, when we could have pursued Derek Fisher.

    Right now, I think the FO, players, and fans need somebody who knows what they're doing.

    Thibs or Luke. Both will have flaws, but both will be infinitely better than what we have now and have had since 2012.

    I'd take Thibs or Luke in a heartbeat right now. Anything but Byron (except Mike Dunleavy who I can't stand).

    At this point I would take Thibs with some good assistants. He has a more proven track record with accomplishing a lot with lesser talent (mostly due to injuries taking guys out of the rotation), and has always had decent-to-great results on the defensive end. These are things we could really use right now and certainly in the future. The one thing that worries me is playing guys into the ground (though it's tough for me to know what is the chicken or the egg in this situation). If he can find a better balance in the minutes, I think he could be great for us.

    On the other hand, Luke is having a great year with the Warriors in his first action as head coach, interim or otherwise. But that is a stacked team coming off a championship, with much of the framework already solidified the year prior. It's not as one-sided as "that ship would run itself" but he's been put into a really good position to succeed. Still, you have to give him some credit for such a blistering start. So the worry I have is who is Luke Walton when he is the actual head coach. What are HIS systems and philosophies? Right now, I feel like it's mostly about enforcing what Kerr helped put into place.

    Thibs, then, with someone who has actual clout with him and has a sense of player psychology and their physical limitations.

    Personally, I'd love to try to raid the Spurs' assistants and snatch up Hammon and Udoka.

    I wouldn't mind Thibs at all, but honestly, I think it's a good idea to get new blood in here that can be our future.

    Thibs as HC, and maybe find a few great international and college assistants that complement Thibs, but bring something different to the table with offensive philosophy and can mold their offence for the tools we have at hand.

    Someone we can groom to be a head coach in the future.

    Thibs' last team was ranked number 5 in defensive efficiency. I don't think he ever had an offense that ranked top 5 in offensive efficiency. Instant upgrade, excellent reputation, brings credibility to the head coaching position.

    I believe Free Agents would take us more seriously with Thibs at the helm. Arguably, you'd have a top 5 head coach, promising young talent, and salary cap flexibility

    Someone said this about a week back; Thibs and Butler are cut from the same cloth. Butler was a late first round pick that Thibs developed; Butler also worked his tail off to become the player he is...hard-working, give it their all, take no shortcuts type of attitude .

    Coincidentally, I think Randle has that same attitude. I think Thibs would turn him into a monster in the defensive end. That's another discussion, though.

    We gotta start polishing this turd sooner or later though right? I can't imagine us looking attractive to any free agents if we continue on like this and with Byron at the helm.

    RE: Butler, interestingly enough I believe there are rumors surfacing that the Bulls feel like Jimmy Butler has "changed as a person." Hey Chicago, we'll trade you Lou Williams, Nick Young, Ryan Kelly, and Robert Sacre for Jimmy Butler and Joakim Noah. :D

    DeRozan is quietly having his most efficient year outside of his 3-point shooting percentage. Pincus has speculated he'll get max money this summer, and he just might.

    He's only taken 49 three's this year; meaning he's focusing on shots closer to the rim where's he's more efficient. He's getting to the line 8 times a game as well. He's not an ideal fit, but I'd settle for him.

    I would believe Thibodeau for the failings he had during the tail end of his Bulls coaching probably has learned from it so as not to repeat the same mistakes again. He relates to the modern player more than Scott. In hindsight with Walton...he's capable but taking a young team learning the ropes with no veteran leadership to lean on would be a bit much.

    Byron is a massive failure. Thibs didn't fail in Chicago. I think he took those rosters as far as they could go. I'd still prefer Luke, though.
