Just me, or was that an awful trailer? I felt about that, the way you all felt about the recent Batman V Superman trailer. I'm still going to see the movie, and I'm sure it can still be good, but man that was crap.
It was underwhelming to me. I thought there was a forced emphasis on the three people who sell the film (Lawrence, Fassbender, and McAvoy). Apocalypse wasn't really terrifying. We saw wanton destruction but we never saw HIM do it. The only really cool part was the mind battle between Xavier and Apocalypse. Everything else was blah. Very generic.
I feel like the Apocalypse character is hampered by that makeup, he can't even move his neck and it bugs me. I also don't get his accent and I'm not feeling the voice. I might be being overly critical here, but a lot about that felt bad, even some of the acting irked me. The girl playing Jean Grey gave a bad delivery of that line, and even Jennifer Lawrence's quick line sounded phoned-in to me. I dunno maybe I'm in a critical mood today, or maybe it was a bad trailer, I guess I'll wait for the next one.
Few things: Jennifer Lawrence shouldn't be one of the leads and apparent team leaders. Also her being in human form for the majority of the film is questionable and goes against her character development over the last two movies. Getting the vibes that she is basically playing Katniss in an X-men movie Apocalypse is not frightening or imposing at all to me. Short in stature, voice not deep. Eyes with pupils. Looks more like a Power Rangers villain than the end of the world. The whole end reveal of McAvoy as bald Professor X was hilarious. Like that is the thing that will hype up fans Sansa Stark's (as Jean Grey) accent and acting seemed very wooden in this trailer Nightcrawler and Quicksilver being in the movie will hopefully bring some cool fight montage/action sequences Why isn't Archangel more menacing...they didn't even make him blue...looks like he stepped out of Mutant GQ Havok and Cyclops in the same movie? Are they gonna be brothers? Is Havok even going to have a big role in this movie? I get the feeling he'll have a small cameo or they'll have him killed off to establish a "threat" from Apocalypse and co
I'm definitely seeing it, but the trailer was bad. Luckily Fassbender and McAvoy are fantastic in their roles and chew up every scene they're in. Between that and seeing what role Wolverine has in one of his final appearances...worth the price of admission.
Yea he really looks perfect. And you know he has the acting chops to pull it off. Great casting choice.
The cast for this movie is just bonkers. Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Mads Mikkelsen, and Rachel McAdams? Insanity.
And to think it might not even have been really possible just a few years ago. Marvel has been steadily building up momentum and "street cred" to the point where even A-listers will take a piece of the action in a lesser known property (like Dr. Strange).
Damn, Disney Marvel can seemingly do no wrong right now. They got exactly who they wanted for Doctor Strange, he looks fantastic in costume, and you know he can be great in the role, because what role hasn't he been great in.
Ok, so i watched all Daredevil episodes one after another... WOW, i love it. On to the Jessica Jones now (hope it's equally good). I realy do need MOAARRRRRRR Marvel stuff
It realy was awesome. I hate myself for waiting so long to watch it. April (it is april right?) can't come soon enough. Daredevil, GOT, followed by Cap and X-men. Hope it will make Kobe's retirement a little easier on me.
