I always like Devin Ebanks. Well, no, not really, but I agree with him here. First Darius Morris (sorry I don't buy that as a hac), and now Ebanks. Borderline D-League players can see how bad B0ron is, that's pathetic. I especially love the part about how B0ron used to be on TWCSN saying he could do better than 'Antoni all the time and now he's worse.

its mindblowing that this idiot is still employed

it's like he's just trolling everyone at this point. it's obvious that he and russell do not have a good relationship whatsoever and at some point, scott needs to go if they want russell to develop properly

I love how these guys (Morris and Ebanks) still care about their team after being released.

You guys hear that? It's the sound of the rest of the league laughing at us.

What's the pitch going to be this year? Hey come play with the up and coming DAR and Randle.

You mean the guys that were 7th and 8th off the bench. EL OH EL. (Hangs up phone)

What on earth is wrong with this guy? He's got no offense/defensive plan, no in game adjustments, throws his players under the bus any chance he gets. What is the front office doing. It's wayyyy past the point of saving face. This guy needs to go now.

They don't care about winning. All they care about is people buying tickets and selling games out. Wonder what they're gonna do when Kobe retires this season and nobody comes to games anymore.

Ok, let's say that's true though. Whether Russ and Randle start and play 30 mpg or come off the bench, we still suck as a team under B0ron. If they are tanking this won't hurt that. And if they are tanking the top priority should be to develop and play the young guys, because we SUCK either way. B0ron didn't send the young guys to the bench to try and start winning. No matter how much or little the young core plays we are still going to end up with a bottom 3 record. The FO cannot condone the way Russ and Randle are being handled, they can't. Bottom line, we suck, so play the kids, it couldn't be simpler.

The mixed messages are simply CONFOUNDING. I've never been so utterly confused by a Lakers coach and FO. It's just a total mess.

The only thing I can make out is that this is condoned. So they must believe they are getting Simmons some how and are doing this on purpose.

It's either that or the most dysfunctional, completely incompetent job by both Coach and FO that I've seen in my time as a Lakers fan. The guys who are good are being punished for being good and riding the pine.

The thing that is so damaging however, is what Doc said. If we really are trying to attract top tier free agents here we are failing miserably in our approach. We're losing way too much, by huge margins, and we're not developing our young players who a FA will be playing with. That tells me that they are betting the house on keeping that pick. Why I don't know. I'd rather we play well, develop our youth and try to get a top or second tier FA here by making it look like a good place to come. Right now we are doing the exact opposite. We look like garbage.

We're trying to win games. We just look bad doing because Byron is our coach. That said, we have some pieces that we could trade by the deadline and land an impact player, IMO. That would be one of my goals this season if I'm the Front Office. You instruct Byron to develop the young core, you trade for an impact player, balance out the roster, win as many games as possible, and head into Free Agency.

But that would be you, RandleROFY. Everything I'm seeing from the FO is the exact opposite. They refuse to tell Byron how to run his show, they seem content with losing and they seem to want to keep the pick at all costs otherwise they would do the very intelligent and rational things that you are listing. Instead they are actively NOT doing those things. That means they are not trying to win and are happy to lose. They aren't removing Byron, nor are they straightening him out, nor do they seem to be upset in any way. Thus I can only conclude that they think they have a shot at Simmons and are keeping on this path for the second worst record that they are on.

It's either that or complete and utter incompetence and neglect. They are either losing on purpose or they are destroying the franchise unwittingly. The fact that are not lifting a finger to change the current direction makes me think it's the former.

I guess we have to see how it all plays out. If we somehow get Simmons, fire Byron this summer and hire a good coach then maybe we will also attract a FA or two. That must be the direction they are aiming for. In the meantime the Kobe Farewell tour that they banked on is a pretty big hit and will be even more so after the ASG. It will be sell outs all the way to the end afterward.

They (The FO) deserve criticism. No doubt. Their responsible for this mess. I remember the sentimentality tied to the Byron hire, though. I remember the way the hiring was marketed, and I believe a lot of that was on Jeanie who loves Byron. JB does, too. Scott was a compromise they agreed upon and something they both supported because their dad reportedly wanted to hire Byron at one point. Simply put, how can you get rid of Byron when Jeanie and Jim support him? Their dad loved him, too. We know all this because Dr. Buss loved his players. I don't think their simply going to fire him in season unless their is a mutiny within the locker room and he creates such a deep divide that they have to make a move. Outside of that, I see him here through the rest of the season.

^^ Sure, I agree with you about the hiring RandleROFY. But they aren't trying to win games. They seem very fine with losing. They could keep Byron and tell him to play the youngsters. But they don't. That means they are condoning the losing. I get why they won't fire him, but they can still let him know how they want this thing to be run. They said explicitly that they aren't going to. That means they want the pick.

Hoping and expecting a pick with a 55% chance has never made sense too me. Sure, I would love the pick. So would the Lakers; however, I'm not banking on having that pick, and it would be foolish if the Lakers did. They need to find ways to add talent to this team and start a coaching search in the offseason. I respect where you're coming from, though. It's frustrating, embarrassing, and makes me livid the way we're being managed and coached right now.

Yeah, don't get me wrong RandleROFY, I agree with your way of thinking all the way. That's the way we would run the Lakers. But since the FO are doing the opposite it leaves only two conclusions - they are completely inept, or they are doing this on purpose because they feel they are going to land the pick. Perhaps they have inside information that we don't. That's the only benefit of the doubt I will give them. As well as granting that they are doing this on purpose/or are at least fine with it - otherwise they would either fire Byron right now or they would make him play the kids like he should be doing, instead of sitting on their hands. In other words, there are options for them to change the course of how this is going, but they aren't, so the results must be fine with them.

Huh. What if we're temp tanking? Make it seem like we have a decent shot at keeping the pick in order to force the 70centers to deal in order to remove the protection?

I want to bring my idea back of having a "Kick Byron in the Junk Jar." We all put money in the jar and when someone runs onto the court and kicks Byron as hard as they can in the nuts, they get whatever is in the jar. At this point I'm willing to put in 10 dollars a day to see it happen. I think if enough people commit to putting money in the jar, there will be games when hundreds of people are trying to rush the court to kick Byron in the balls.
