Time has slowed down now that this comes out in less than 2 weeks. And I can't even distract myself with the Lakers because they suck ***.

I'll be watching it at AMC Burbank which has the Dolby Cinema @ AMC Prime.

    https://www.amctheatres.com/amc-prime

It's the only one in California and is the 2nd highest rated quality format behind IMAX Laser which is only at the Mann's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

Good looking out. I think that's where I'll go see it after the crowds die down a bit.

Us nerds at work (my buddies and I) took the day off next Friday to catch it at noon. Assigned seating, VIP food, and 3D! I am pumped! My Yoda lightsaber is ready!!!

The only thing is that the 3D was done in post production, so it's not technically a 3D movie.

Yeah. I plan on seeing it there too eventually. I have tickets for 7:00 pm Thursday on the 17th and also 8:00 pm Saturday the 19th. by the time I get around to seeing it on that screen, it could very well be my 5th screening. :D

    Holy crap lol.

I'm watching it on the 23rd at 7:00. The seat selection was still relatively open when I bought them. I don't mind waiting a week to skip the huge crowds lol.

Good luck watching with all the kids screaming everytime the see a lightsaber, unless you're doing the screaming too lol.

Well, both showings are in IMAX and all the IMAX screens (at least in my neck of the woods) are assigned seating. I can get there at 6:59 for the 7:00 show. Yes the theater will be full, but the theaters are going to be full for 2-3 weeks most likely. I won't have to stand in line at all for the first two times I see it.

I didn't mean about the lines, I was talking about in the theatre.

My son works at a movie theater. They will have Star Wars on about 8 to 10 screens. They are sold out from opening night until the middle of January.

My hype for this is off the charts, hearing all the praise from celebs at the premiere. That and the last commercial I saw gave me those movie chills.

I'm trying desperately not to catch any spoilers. I have tickets for the 17th. My work week is going by so slowly right now.

I had a marathon with my daughter (who's 3.5 yrs. old and knows Yoda LOL... shes' being trained in the ways of the Jedi early) using the viewing order explained here:

    http://www.nomachetejuggling.com/2011/11/11/the-star-wars-saga-suggested-viewing-order/

Basically Episode 4, 5, 2, 3, 6... Episode 1 can be viewed as sort of a side story and can be omitted if you want (no Jar Jar, YIIIPPPEEEE!!!)

It actually works... except for some scenes in the beginning of episode 2. You lose the story on how Anakin & Padme knew each other beforehand.

What I'd add to that is watch the Clone Wars short cartoons (not the CGI ones but the 5 to 7 minute ones they showed on TV) to bridge Episode 2 and 3

Same here with the spoilers. This is the first SW movie I can go in spoiler free, with everything being new. I grew up already knowing the story of the originals, can't remember a time before them, you just somehow knew them as an 80's/90's kid. And the prequels don't count because we all knew how that was gonna end. If anyone spoils this one for me on purpose I'll be pissed, this will be my first chance to experience anything like the freshness of the original in '77.

Early impressions are good. I have tickets for 7:00 pm on Thursday so as of this post I am less than 50 hours away. I have never been so scared I am going to get in some sort of accident or something. I just have to stay safe for 2 days. Starting tomorrow, I am going to probably stay off the Internet for the most part. I might actually have to do some work the next two days rather than posting on message boards. That's gonna make these next two days even slower. :giggle:

Stopped by my favorite local theater (that has $6 movies all Sunday ever Sunday) to see if just by chance they had some tickets soon, or at least how far out I could get them for now, expecting maybe weeks. Apparently they don't sell them that far out. Just by some wonderful chance we go by tonight, and being a Tuesday night it's deserted. I asked when the earliest SW tickets were available, lady checks the computer, and they just added an extra showing tonight for Sunday at 1 PM. No tickets were sold for that showing yet, and it's assigned seating, so we got 5 tickets, middle of the theater, center seats. I'm seeing this damn movie on Sunday afternoon at 1, assigned seating recliner chairs, I can't freaking wait! I thought I wasn't gonna get to see this thing until mid January or early February. I'm avoiding SW posts anywhere I see them like the plague from here on out.
