Man I'm glad I don't listen to those guys. I'm mad enough already, I don't need to hear excuses thrown at me by the apologists on the payroll, or be told that I'm an overacting fan. Screw Trudell man, I'm not stupid enough to not get that he's "the" Laker reporter and has to spin positive.

WMC: it took 20ish games for us to finally see more young guns and less Kobe...and the results speak for themselves. We literally saw the development happen on the court. ON THE COURT...NOT ON THE WOOD BENCH.

    Free throws kinda sucked.

Also JC got hurt, hope it's minor.

WMC: Byron is still the coach so I doubt there is newfound trust in Russ & Randle playing more.

Like Weezy mentioned in the BS thread: if Kobe & JC don't get hurt, the two don't get their coming out party in the 4th and OT tonight.

He said in his post game interview that it was Kobe's idea to leave them out there and "see what they got". So unless Kobe decides to cut his own minutes in the future, yeah, no credit for B0ron, and we won't see it often.

My WMC, reporters laughing with B0ron and giving him credit, trying to get him to pat himself on the back for inspiring Russ and Randle with benching. Like literally, Bresnahan or whoever said "you can pat yourself on the back, it's ok". At least B0ron refused to do so. Even made me feel a tiny bit bad for him, like if he'd get out of his own way, play the youth, have competent assistants, fans wouldn't be calling for his head.

But that's the principle problem. He can't get out of his own way. He wants the glory and he wants it his way. Without those conditions, he doesn't really care what is happening around him.

He is his own worst enemy. And I agree. Hire good assistants and play the young guys. That's all he really has to do to please people right now and he refuses.

He still wouldn't be the long term answer but at least everyone wouldn't hate him.

Man, perfectly stated. Byron and the Lakers know he's not the long term solution. He was/is the setup guy. Whatever, though.

We'll have 3 coaching candidates we will look at next year: Brooks, Thibs, and Luke. There will be others but if Brooks can help bring in KD or Westbrook, I am interested. Thibs...solid coach, instant upgrade, etc. Luke: can install what GS is doing, good basketball mind, and tremendous upside.

Yeah. I would be fine with any of those guys at this point.

Brooks isn't a good coach though. It'll be like Byron part 2.

I don't see why either one would want to play for him again, not like they won a title under him and I haven't heard reports they miss him. I don't want Brooks here at all, another Scott that likes to go all ISO. I'm not a huge Thibs fan either, he rides players into the ground. Luke, still don't know, but I'd probably take the chance depending how the rest of his season goes with GS.

All coaches have their faults. From everything I read KD and Westbrook loved playing for Brooks. Provided he can help deliver one of them, I am not nterested.

Luke is still my guy, though.

That is true, all coaches have their faults, but his personally are ones that bug me the most. I hate ISO ball. His faults might have cost them a championship. I guess if KD said he'd sign to play for him you'd have to do it though, and hope having a PG like Russ would help cut down on ISO, I dunno.

No to Brooks. A bad coach who was made to look good cause he had two top ten players. That would be a fourth s*** hire in a row. We can't do that.

The Thunder team absolutely loved Brooks. After he was fired, Durant thanked him for everything he's done for the team, and even before then, I remember Westbrook refusing to talk to the media (or someone from the media) because they speculated that Brooks would be fired soon. They backed Brooks 100%, which is more than you can say for a lot of coaches.

I think Brooks gets a bad rep, but they lost to the champs (Heat/Spurs) twice and were riddled with injuries every other season. I think they also overachieved under his helm these past few years, despite the injuries.

I can deal with this loss... The young guys probably grew a crap-ton playing this game... I think the results show for themselves... we didn't get blown out...

Yeah, this one doesn't bother me a bit. Exciting, down to the wire, some great shots by the kids in the clutch . . . fun basketball. Loved seeing Randle and Russell out there in the end playing as if their lives depended on it. Almost got this one!
