he realizes that he's basically saying he's just chucking his own feces at the wall of his padded cell, right? the ol' ten game trial. you really nailed the first two, champ. just keep tinkering, you'll get it. let's try sacre at the three and nick young at center. I mean, we're losing, and it's different, so that's good, right? really want to curse repeatedly to end this message.

Why was the starting lineup the first thing he thought of as responsible for the 3-17 start?

How about try holding Kobe accountable for free-for-all chucking?
How about running more pick and roll?
How about letting Clarkson/Russell/(insert guy who's playing well) play in 4th quarters?
How about not benching guys like Young and Black for no reason?
How about playing Hibbert down the stretch?
How about not playing Bass at center?

Well I missed most of this s***show and it seems like most everything that's needed to be said has been said 100 fold. Still waiting for Byron to be fired. He is without a doubt the stupidest NBA coach I have ever seen. Literally, nothing going on upstairs. Just a fake old school tough guy act and a bag of cliches.

I LOVE Darius Morris going HAM on Byron. Hilarious and spot on.

I was talking to my cousin (who is another die hard Lakers fan), and I brought up the fact that this franchise is so stuck on tradition. They ALWAYS talk about the past, and all the Laker greats that have played in the organization. Don't get me wrong, it's not wrong, I love that this team has such a storied and decorated past. But I think the FO is stuck on tradition to a fault. Everything is about tradition, they include it in their FA pitches, they talk about it in every interview, and it shows with the hiring of Byron. Tradition this, tradition that. At one point, the FO has to wake up and look ahead at the future. Even the introductions at Staples Center has been THE SAME with the giant curtain. Maybe it's just me, but I want this franchise to be progressive, I want them to think ahead, and move on with the times. From the atmosphere at Staples, all the way up to the way management thinks of putting together a team. Think ahead, and stop being stuck relishing in the past.

They do seem stuck in the past, and it appears to me loyalty to B0ron for what he did almost 30 years ago is keeping him employed. When Dr Buss bought the team he didn't rely on tradition alone, he mixed things up and brought new, exciting stuff to the franchise. We have done a fine job of drafting as a result of the horrible seasons we've had, but aside from that the plan of going after the biggest name available and then settling for the scraps when we miss has been awful and it's prevented building a real team over time. I mean going after Melo, really?

Dr. Buss had a vision, not just for the immediate future but for 5, 10, 15 years down the line. A vision for the team, for the NBA, and the city of Los Angeles. I don't honestly know if the current FO has one beyond personal agendas and feelings.

    ESPNLA 710 update:
Pretty disappointed that Mike Truedale and Mychal Thompson had to travel cause they would have been the most likely to defend Byron.
It was Jeff Catz and a Kam bro on today and they've been saying pretty much why everyone here has been saying. Kind of glad they put all that on the air waves as oppose to Truedale's constant "there's 82 games, they'll get a chance to play." And Mychal's "Byron played with the Showtime era and under Riley, he should know how to coach, maybe the players don't understand it, basketball is a simple sport."

Katz can be abrasive but he speaks his mind without trying to preserve anyone's feelings. Kam bros have always been good at keeping things real as well. Mason & Ireland should be interesting to hear (although I am guessing Ireland will also be traveling).

It's Mason and another Kam brother I believe.

They were trashing Byron pretty roughly and they even went as far as trashing the Buss kids and a little bit on Mitch too.

    I liked it.

My reaction while watching our games these days, since we play like trash (or forced by boron to play like trash.)

Caught the tail end of Trudell and Thompson talking about the Lakers. More reason to not take Thompson seriously, "Havlicek came off the bench, Ginobli came off the bench, Worth came off the bench. What's wrong with coming off the bench? You can still learn."

I hate Thompson & Trudell. It's a Lakers self-suck fest...nty. I only like Mason & Ireland pretty much these days. Used to love Max & Marcellus but got tired of it.

Trudell: "I don't understand the outcry from the fans. There's are still 60 games in the season. What happens this game isn't going to happen in the later games. Look at Clarkson."
