1. Someone make a ridiculous offer to the Buss family. 2. Boron gets escorted out of the building by the security staff 3. Profit
We don't need top tier free agents. We do need to upgrade the roster with mid level guys. Guys like Batum, Speights, or Ryan Andersen. All would be solid additions.
1. Fire :Scott: 2. Get counseling for the players 3. Blacklist Byron so no other players or fans experience this kind of trauma again. (Unless we sadistically approve in advance. (Clippers, C Bags, etc.)
1. Replace Byron with a competent coach (at this point I've almost got my heart set on Luke give him whatever it takes). Without Byron, we have hope again. Our guys are giving up in games and that's the line for me. The line is not what our record indicates, but if our players are no longer interested in playing then we cannot keep that coach around. Not to mention he's the worst basketball coach I've ever seen at the NBA level. He has no plan, no intuitiveness, no ingenuity. I've seen maybe once or twice a sign of good coaching in the last two years. Unacceptable. 2. Scale back Kobe's minutes and give him limited control out there. We do not need to be playing him 35 minutes per game and we certainly don't need him taking this many shots. He should be playing 25 minutes per game and taking maybe 10-12 shots. That's it. Anything over either of those totals and I pull him. I know this is his farewell tour, so I'm going to try to make sure he makes it through the season, let alone Christmas. 3. Free the players. Get them to do things together off the court. Go bowling (hi Andrew Bynum!), go to the movies, go to local homeless shelters. Make them spend time together and develop friendships and bonds. When they get on the court they'll trust each other more and grow more easily. At practice come up with fun but competitive drills so that they don't feel like this is the worst job in the world but a job where you get to play basketball for a living in a great city with one of the greatest to ever play the game. Fostering a fun, worry-free, competitive environment is crucial to these young players. All they feel right now is frustration and mounting expectations that are driving them down.
Meh, not really down for the whole trade for "stars" strategy, I'd rather just stick with our DAR/JC/JR trio.
Kobe is gonna keep shooting. I'm sure staying at 25 PPG is a goal of his and sounds a lot better than 24.9 for his career. Byron is not the person to stop him either. In fact, based on the goal of a top 3 pick, I'm sure they encourage it.
1. Fire Boron. 2. Stay at home with 3 point shooters. Our defense as a whole is awful, but we are particularly bad at this. 3. Help the helper. 4. Run pick and pop with Hibbert and pick and roll with Randle. 5. The kids should each be playing 35 minutes a game barring injury or foul trouble. Our youngest players happen to be our best players right this very minute. 6. Initiate the offense through probing (DAR, Clarkson). Stop this pass around the perimeter for 10 seconds crap or the iso iso iso offense. Probe, move without the ball, cut. 7. Cut Kobe's minutes to 24 minutes a game, nothing more. Tell him to move without the ball for catch and shoot and mid post actions. If Kobe is in mid posts, someone needs to dive. Kobe is pretty good at hitting players that dive, but for whatever reason we don't do that. If Kobe goes chuck mode sit him. 8. Bass is a PF, not a center. Play him as backup PF and play Black as backup center. 9. Hire a family therapist for the Buss siblings. There is obvious dysfunction there at it's trickling down through the entire organization. They need to get their act together. If not sell the team to Dr. Patrick or Phillip Anschutz, or give up daily control of the team. Something needs to change here.
Only thing I would disagree with is play JC or Russ with the 2nd unit so they get maximum time on the floor and experience instead of Huertas
Huertas isn't even playing though. He only got off the bench against Detroit because we were down by 30 points.
#1 should be Jeannie Buss to stop retweeting pics of babies / kids in Lakers gear and get to work, which would bring us to step 1b: #FireByronScott. If only those kids know what kind of turd the Lakers are in right now.
Yeah I'm not getting the Huertas hate at all. It takes exactly one possession to see that this guy is a rock solid operator out there. I'd love for him to have 15-20 minutes on the floor every night, but it would take a competent coach to figure out how to do that apparently.
