He looks like what Paul Pierce is supposed to be. Holy crap. I love this version of Metta World Artest.

His D wasn't bad. But his offense sure was.

Yep. He was terrific on Dirk down the stretch. No one else noticed how much he bothered one of the greatest scorers of the generation? Maybe ever? Dirk didn't beat us, everyone else on the Mavs did thanks to Metta.

Metta World Artest got off to a hell of a start in the 1st Q. Seems to have a better groove when he's starting. He's the best starting SF on the roster.

I'm happy for Metta that he's showing the guys on the team and fans and other players in the league that he still has some game left.

As the old saying goes, "You have to be crazy to want to coach."

    Metta qualifies.

However, I don't really see him as a head coach. More like a 1 on 1 player development coach.

I was hoping Scott would've gotten him in there last night during the closing seconds, allowing Kobe and MWP to share the court together one last time. Also, it's most likely MWP's last game as a Lakers player.

    Here's the exit interview

I mentioned it in the Kobe thread, his cheering game was on point...sometimes before the play even unfolded.

loved ron ever since he came to LA

and you can tell how much he loves playing for the lakers. hope they keep him next year to fill that need for a vet presence and hopefully get him into a job within the organization when he retires

Metta's done. No way i'd keep him on as a player. Some kind of a player development coach, sure.

    MWP on The Jump...

-Locker Room: Russ made a mistake, little issue, weather the storm. Team gave him a little talk. Young kids make a lot of mistakes, got to be there to pick him up. Different league, Oak was there when he came in.
-Luke: excited for him. 2 years ago, he told Luke he should be a HC, Luke wasn't sure. As a player, Luke would give Ron tips on what to do during the finals and Ron said he'd always go to him for advice when they were on the bench.
-On returning - they're working on it, it's too early to say.
