Does anyone take this dude seriously anymore? I was watching inside the NBA and he said the Lakers haven't drafted guys who can help immediately. Really? Clarkson as a second round pick was an immediate help once he starting getting consistent minutes last season and has progressed even further this season. Then he talks about how they should've drafted Okafor over Russell. Talk about contradiction. During he draft he said D'Angelo was the best player in the draft and now he says they shouldn't have drafted him. The Sixers just won their first game and considering Okafor just got suspended how exactly would he have helped us immediately over Russell? He's putting up great numbers. Good for him and they're 1-19 so obviously the great stats aren't leading to many wins. I don't have any problem with saying Jahlil should've been the selection. I take issue with anyone who says that Russell was the best player and now it's a mistake. What about Julius Randle? Who should they have taken ahead of him at number seven? He's right now without question the second best player in that draft behind Wiggins.
He was never taken seriously plus he's a Lakers hater . Suns related people = Lakers haters Russell over Jahlil was the right choice regardless of Okafor off court behaviour . The game has changed .... Barkley is one of these irrelevant ex players who still doesn't get this
Barkley is just an onscreen personality at this point, I usually don't take what he says about basketball seriously.
Take him seriously, no. He clearly doesn't watch the Lakers, and neither does the majority of the media. He basically insulted Russell and called him a bad pick by saying we should have taken Okafor. He talks out of his a**. Regarding Kobe, he mocks him all the time, has said he was done for like 5 years now, and tonight it was all praise, all about what a legend and top 10 player he is, and he ended it all poetic about how he's gonna miss him and thanking him for his years of play, he's a clown. And the rest of the media, Adande said on ATH today that it doesn't matter if Kobe takes all the shots, because we suck, no mention of B0ron. Isola (I believe) said it doesn't matter because Kobe playing poorly helps our draft chances. Only Blackistone said that he'd like to see Kobe tone it down a bit so Russell and Randle could get more opportunities. Zero mention of our forgotten best player Clarkson from him though, and I rarely hear him mentioned elsewhere either. That tells me these guys glance at stories about us, know who our lottery picks were last year and this year and that's about it, nothing deeper. Hell our own media won't criticize B0ron, not Pincus, Trudell, Ireland or anyone on 710, it's a joke.
Eh. The guy is paid for basically a stream of consciousness that he spews onto the screen. The few times he sits down and has a coherent thought he can be insightful, but he's not paid to be insightful. He's paid to be a clown who says and does funny things to make the people laugh. Which is cool by the way. I like laughing at funny clowns. That doesn't mean I have to listen to their opinions though.
Barkley is just entertainment. Like therealdeal said, he has his opinions and insight, but they're not anything in-depth. He'll make a decent argument every once in a while, and he'll also say something incredibly stupid. Don't take it too seriously.
TNT isn't immune to sensationalism and that's Chuck's purpose. Elicit a powerful reaction whether positive or negative. Get people talking about you. This thread simply validates his existence.
I like Charles, because he's an inspiration to golfers everywhere LMBO, look at the girl with the camera getting TOTALLY out of the way lol
I agree Charles is not the sharpest tool in the shed. But every once in a while he'll drop some insightful knowledge. Most of the time the dude is stating the obvious but I enjoy his candidness. He's not an expert or anything but if you watch the show regularly he does make a few good points every once in a while. @Weezy I saw the Kobe interview episode and nearly shat my pants when he said "Kobe Bryant is obviously one of the top 10 greatest players ever"
