Wow, just rewatched the game. Glad I missed this one. I really can't see him getting back to a high level and honestly if this is what we're gonna be getting consistently, I can't see how he lasts the season. Very hard to watch and accept. I grew up watching this guy, he's what led me to this franchise, we've all seen him do superhuman stuff, for him to look so...below average out there.
Yeah, the former Lakers aren't willing to criticize him. Byron was getting a lot of criticism this morning for giving Kobe a complete green light.
It's truly sad. Love him or hate him, Kobe is the best (or at least one of the best) players of his generation (muchless the sport). To see/hear/read about him playing like this physically hurts. It ain't supposed to be like this.
This is pathetic. Kobe's playing very selfishly this year, he has not helped out our young guys on the court at all http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...yron-scott-to-bring-kobe-bryant-off-the-bench According to SportVU, Bryant is averaging 29.8 passes per game, fewer than Enes Kanter, Mason Plumlee, Jordan Hill, Kevin Garnett and a very long list of guys who don’t play as often and/or aren’t the focal point of their team’s nightly game plan.
I don't think he's right about not having help on this team. There is. Probably is Kobe's ego won't allow him to defer and Mr. folded arms is only further compounding that.
Kobe's comments are quite frankly pathetic... You have to do a better job of not dominating the ball. You can't play off the ball and do those things if you are constantly hogging it dummy. Yea it's called keep away from Kobe. The young guys play within themselves for the most part, you shoot every time you get the ball. YOU CHANGE to fit in the system, everyone else is waiting on you. (See Nick Young's comments) I'm 100% percent sure everyone else on that team is thinking the same thing, Nick just made it vocal. Our best ball is when DAR/JC has it, not you and Lou. No you got it wrong. We would be 0-14 because you would need to take ~35 shots a game to do that and we would average 75-80 points a game. No one sees what you are saying, they are to busy laughing. The bigger issue is YOU hogging the ball and refusing to pass and only managing 15 points on 16 shots. You barely play any defense, you don't create for others anymore and you settle for long range 2 pointers. Wins and losses don't matter this year, if you really wanted to play in the system and help the young guys STOP FLAPPING THE GUMS and start leading by example. You've been doing the same thing all season, what changed this game? You get the ball you hang onto it for 10 seconds, you take 1 dribble, pump fake pump fake pump fake and brick Js left and right. The offense hasn't changed one bit from any of the other games. And then Byron says he has faith Kobe will turn it around. You got faith? Well I got facts that say you suck (For awhile now) and Kobe sucks (This season) open your eyes and realize faith isn't going to make Kobe shoot 50% and stop hogging the ball. Changes need to be made. Honestly I just felt like I pwned some troll at ClubLakers. The intelligence level between Kobe/Byron right now is right on par with them so no wonder it feels the same.
I wonder if he remembers this... “You think I’d hang around and average 18 points, 19 points…? hell no.” - Kobe Bryant, 2012.
