They are too much in shock. Likely in a room twirling circles babbling, "this can't be happening again"...

You're not worried about that, seriously?

Byron fortunately has Bass he can use when Roy is out for the last third of the third and all of the 4th quarters.

Kobe becoming coach by necessity again. And he seriously wants nothing to do with coaching. Thanks Byron.

    Boron is a moron.

He tries to go small ball but he doesn't understand what small ball is. The success of small ball is predicated on generating turnovers, running, spreading the floor, having all guys that can shoot, uptempo play. He just puts a small lineup out there with none of those factors.

Porzingis, the #4 pick, went for 24/14/7 blocks tonight. Leave it To Phil to show Jim how it's down on a draft. His 17-65 team of last year is now #7 seed 8-6 to after beating the Rockets (road win), Thunder (road win), and a few other decent teams like the Wizards x2 and Raptors (all road wins).

sorry but no one knew Porzingis would be this good even NY. Phil took a chance when their targets were off the board. If he had the no. 2 pick I'm sure he'll pick Okafor or Russell. But it's just the way these things are, we have to wait for our boy to pan out.

I don't remember a single person saying they wanted Kristaps leading up to the draft. I'm actually happy for him especially the way the Knicks fans boo'd him on draft day.

Also, we aren't losing because of our draft picks. Stat after stat shows we play better with the young guys in the game regardless of their numbers (although their numbers are actually better than people give them credit for).

Good for him. I like the kid. Hated how Knick fans booed him without even really knowing what he is or the type of player he could be. With that said I'm still glad we took Russell. I haven't seen anything from him to think we all won't be thrilled with the pick for years to come. I'm not sure how Phil is showing Jim how it's done in the draft. It's not like it's already a given that Kristaps is gonna be a better player than D'Angelo. We're not even a third of the way into this season.

Bro code breaker Fish looks like he may turn out to be a decent coach too. He was also very obtainable...

The problem is not the draft. LA has drafted very well over the past few seasons (But in retrospect, Porzingis and Grant might be one of the best 1st round takeaways ever). We're loaded with young talent.

Russell-JC-Randle is a triumvirate in the makings.
Nance is a future regular contributor.

The problem is totally in having a system that players can buy into. Even with Melo chucking like Kobe, and not much more efficiently, the Knicks are 8-6. That's because they're a perfectly average team on both offense and defense. We're bad on offense and one of the worst on defense.

Players aren't buying in, or the schemes are whack. I'm tempted to believe it's partially both, but I'll put the stress on players not buying in. We've seen countless teams with several terrible defenders become good defensive teams. Why aren't we making any strides toward that in year 2, Byron?

My thoughts as well. I wouldn't be surprised if half of the contested three's were Kobe's.

We also have guys that love to shoot contested three's - Kobe, Nick, Lou Will

Phil had the 4th pick to work with, not the 2nd like us. Easy to say nothing is a given @ this point and true, but the guy just destroyed the Rockets, D'Angelo (who I do have great hopes for) has not even flashed signs of being able to take over a game like that. Bigs usually have a tough time acclimating to the NBA this guy is 7'3" and fitting in just fine and his team is 8-6 as a result. We're 2-10 and a lighter schedule so far. All indications are that he is just going to keep getting better and while that also applies to Russell, he is just trying to get up to par with the NBA and Porzingis definitely has the holeshot there. As it stands now Phil has the upper hand in the draft considering the lower pick# and expectations for that (also the #3 pick Okafor is looking very solid and a huge contributor).

I still like our pick and actually it's my gut feeling that Mitch calls the picks and Jim follows his lead but I do think Jim exclusively has been choosing our coaches.

He's got his Tex Winter though in PJ in NY. And his Tex Winter also pulls all the strings.

Well, the season is still incredibly young. We've got ample opportunity to turn this around, play better on both sides of the ball, win a respectable amount of games, develop the kids, and attract a couple FA's. That said, it all begins with B. Scott. He needs to get his stuff together, play rotations that actually make sense and work effectively, and he needs to trust and play the young guns more minutes. This is on him. Get it together, B. There is enough talent assembled here to work with . . . it's what you do with the pieces.

I disagree. D'Angelo was taking over that game over the Nets and to a lesser degree the last game. Against the Nets he was on fire and then got pulled once again. He has an incredibly short leash and is still producing as well as I think anybody can anticipate considering who the coach is, what the system is, and the players he's playing with. Of course he's gonna have big numbers when he's playing limited minutes, in a system that doesn't fit him or the other young players really at all, and he fears getting pulled at any minute.
