I think RandleROFY and others are right. Kobe's body language, his embracing his opponents at the end of the game and the look on his face . . . I do think this season will indeed be his last.
He's as close to done as I've ever seen. He can't play a full good game anymore. He's good for a half, max. His body doesn't seem to allow any more. It's sad to watch, and I'm certainly not mad at him for that. The end is near for Kobe, and I'd always hoped he'd go out still being Kobe, but that doesn't seem to be in the cards anymore.
Yeah it's either his legs or back that hampers him every other quarter it seems. We're going to have to embrace the Kobe roulette for the rest of the season.
I'll miss Kobe like crazy when he's gone. A lot of you act like he's such a burden to the team, but seem to forget that we suck regardless. Enjoy the last season and if you ever forget how AMAZING he was you can get on YouTube and remind yourself. #SpoiledFans
Great all around game from Kobe. Didn't really force anything, didn't even really dominate the basketball but made some quick decisive decisions. Couple of nice dishes to Hibbs, and it was good to see him hit that big three late. You could tell how relieved he was.
Great game but 37 minutes is way too much. Especially with D'Angelo rotting on the bench for no reason again.
That was probably Kobe's best game all season so far. Just way too many mins, he better be sitting out tomorrow or playing very little.
I saw the 6/19 shooting on my ESPN app after the game, and assumed he had a bad night, yet he was getting praise on TWC. Then I saw the 8 boards and 9 assists and I got it, sounds like he had a great all around game. 37 mins IS too much, but he said he wanted to finish this one strong and get the win, as he would sit tommorow anyway.
It's pretty irresponsible unless Kobe refused to come out. Kobe being Kobe and Byron letting him do whatever he wants that is possible, but just as likely as Byron wants wins at all costs to save his job.
Not a big deal to me considering he's not playing tommorow and we don't play after that until Friday. I think there will be times Kobe goes over whatever the minutes limit is, but as long as it's not consistent then I'm okay with one game of playing 36.
Awful shooting percentage but nothing new in that regard. But a nice all around game from Kobe who looked pretty spry at times and he dished really well, plus got plenty of boards. Probably his best effort this season.
Just finished the game, and yeah, he played well. Heck, I'll take half of that production from Kobe. Maybe my favorite stat other than the 9 assists is the 1/4 on threes, emphasis on 4 attempts. That's what I want to see, going to the hoop and closer shots. Also, that one sweeping layup gliding to the hoop was sweet, vintage Kobe.
