I think he's trying to reinvent himself. Being a legitimate 3 Pt thread will open up drives with his slower first step to get separation. I just never expected him to try to break Ray Allen records, etc

Waaaaay too many threes. I think it's a combination of his stubborness but also this offense, or lack thereof. WTF are we doing out there? Why not run some plays to get him some mid post opportunities? A good coach would bring out the best in Kobe. We don't have one.

Are we running plays? For anyone? At all? I havent seen such a lost and out of sync offense since Mike Brown's last 4 or 5 games before his was fired. Guys running around lost, setting screens that lead to nothing but launched threes. Other guys having to go completely one on one like Clarkson and Lou. Do we run plays for Randle for example? Giving him the ball just above the ft line and clearing out while he does the same move is not a play. Bass doesn't get touches, Hibbert doesn't get touches, Kelly gets set up more than anyone, it's all backwards.

Totally with you, I don't see a purpose in what were doing. Useless screens, moving around in circles. Kobe then gets the ball with 8 seconds left behind the 3 point line. I mean come on this is so bad.

Uh..ok. How can Kobe say this stuff while doing what he's doing out there on the court? You can't say this unless you back it up, you can't. I really want to believe that these losses are changing his thinking, but I need to see it.

Kobe has a point. The ball needs to be in Russell's hands. Clarkson would be deadly off the ball. Yeah Kobe needs to play smarter, but if we had an actual system where he got the ball in his sweet spots where he can attack and got better quality looks.

He will do it. Has he done it so far? Nope. Nonetheless, this quite an acknowledgement from him. I also think Byron will acquiesce and run more pick in rolls and other stuff designed for D'Angelo.

He played smarter in the second half

I think it will click, but he'll fight it to his core every chance he gets

Now I suppose he'll go from alpha Kobe chucker, to Kobe passive grandpa.

For someone who modeled almost his entire offense after Jordan... I have no idea why he isn't showcasing his midrange post/baseline turnarounds in his old age.. I think his lift seems fine and he's a bit quicker than Jordan was at 37. SF's can't even begin to guard his odd angled shots.. especially with his footwork. No idea why he can't operate off the ball and catch the pass and go into a 1-2-3 dribble midrange post move.. he's almost automatic on those shots. His efficiency would go through the roof and he'd catch so many people in the air with his fakes he'd eat off the stripe again.

This has very little to do with old age, he looks tremendous honestly and runs the floor with ease.. Extremely frustrating watching this stupidity continue... he's a stubborn mule and the coaching staff are a bunch of cowards apparently.

I don't think he cares ... His only current goal is to score the most points possible in his career ... so he's shooting lots of 3s ...

As someone said on Twitter , you can either ask Kobe to pass the ball more or limit his minutes ... both isn't an option for him .

The worst thing is he may keep playing beyond this season and the Buss kids will agree .

He looked pretty good in the pre season in terms of letting the offense come to him.

The first 2 games have been awful chucking and needs to stop.

Kobe is 13-36 on the season. Let's remove his three-point shots (4-21).

Suppose Kobe were playing 25 a night, were shooting 60% (9-15), and had a total of 25 points. Would we be a better team? Probably. Kobe says he's struggling to get his legs for threes, but that's an absurd excuse. His midrange is money right now. He needs to ride that, work in the paint, and maybe we need to bring in another floor spacer at the SG or PF spot for some stretches when Kobe's on the court. He needs to park it on the elbow.

Maybe we need to play Metta with him. He's not going to space the floor, but he's going to camp out where Kobe would go to from 3. I'd rather live with 3-4 missed 3s from MWP if it keeps Kobe's a** closer tu the paint.

    This.

Why did the season start and suddenly Kobe is convinced he needs to take 800 threes a game? What happened? Inside the arc he's looked fine. Just no excuse for what he's been doing and how Byron has been coaching and to a lesser extent the way the team has responded to the two of them.

Agreed, obviously I don't expect him to average 10 threes a game but he's on pace to shatter the three point attempt single season record here. 13 vs Minnesota and 8 vs the Kings? Come on man.
