I'm about to run positional efficiency numbers for the first two games. If you find other interesting stats, feel free to post them.
POSITIONAL EFFIENCIES 100+ superstar 90+ star 80+ starter 60+ reserve PGs Clarkson 60 Huertas 59 Russell 50 TEAM: 62 Wing Young 87 Kobe 76 Williams 72 Clarkson 69 TEAM: 65 BIG Hibbert 117 Kelly 67 Randle 49 Bass 43 TEAM: 73 Scoring Efficiency: Brown 9.13, Young 7.19, Kobe 6.52; TEAM 5.83 Passing Efficiency: Huertas 3.92, Williams 3.09, Kelly 2.70; TEAM 2.63 Hustle Efficiency: Hibbert 4.47, Sacre 4.08, Kelly 3.14; TEAM 2.72 Some interesting SYNERGY stats I do. Points Produced Per Possession Brown 1.67 Young 1.65 Huertas 1.40 Hibbert 1.29 Williams 1.21 Kelly 1.15 TEAM 1.14 Clarkson 1.14 Russell 1.08 Kobe 0.99 Bass 0.93 Randle 0.83 Sacre 0.50 Black 0.00
PG Clarkson 63 Huertas 61 Russell 56 TEAM: 61 -All of the PGs have improved a bit. None of them are playing particularly well. Wing Williams 73 Clarkson 71 Kobe 70 Young 66 TEAM: 64 -Young has come back to earth (he's consistently in the 60s because he can't do anything but score). Kobe has crashed a bit. Clarkson is up a tick, and Williams is steady. BIG Hibbert 95 Randle 70 Bass 67 Kelly 58 Black 45 TEAM: 73 -I didn't expect Hibbert to stay at 117, but he's in good shape at 95. Randle and Bass have stepped it up to respectable levels. We don't know how to use Black. Kelly was awful all last season. Scoring: Williams 6.42, Young 6.42, Clarkson 6.39; TEAM 5.7 Passing: Huertas 3.95, Russell 3.11, Kobe 2.81; TEAM 2.6 Hustle: Hibbert 4.08, Bass 3.30, Kelly 3.02; TEAM 2.8 -I cut out the guys who haven't played enough to be on the list. Look at the top scorers: no Kobe. -Huertas and Russell will probably be tops on the passing efficiency all season. Kobe and Clarkson will probably duel for third. -This team sorely lacks players who hustle efficiently outside Hibbert.

BTW, his passing score is so low compared to last year because he's not being as ball-dominant (which is good, I think), and his hustle isn't that great either - doesn't really block shots, grab o-reb, or steal the ball. And his scoring is only good - not exceptional or even very good. He'll get there.
Killing some time until Notre Dame plays tonight, so I figured I'd run some numbers. I'm looking only at Scoring Efficiencies, and I'm looking at Standard Deviations. I looked at all players who played at least 500 minutes last season. Scoring Efficiencies Incredible (6.88+) (Three Standard Deviations Up) No one Excellent (6.38+) (Two SD Up) Anthony Brown (MINUTES*) B-grade Above Average (5.88+) (One SD Up) Young 6.06 Clarkson 5.95 Williams 5.94 Average (4.88-5.88) Kobe 5.85 Randle 5.37 Hibbert 5.36 Sacre 5.35 Peace 5.34 Russell 5.33 Bass 5.08 Below Avg (4.38<x<4.88) (One SD Below) Nance 4.49 Huertas 4.51 Poor (3.88<x<4.38) (Two SDs Below) Kelly 4.33 We have three guys in the top 20% in the league in Scoring Efficiency (only 75 of 366 qualified players were that good). We also have one guy - Kelly - in the bottom 3% (only 12 of 366 qualified players were that bad).
It's a stat. I'm just talking about what I call "hustle efficiency." It's not great for the reasons I mentioned - because that's what the stat measures Ideally, a hustle stat would include 50/50 balls and things like that, too, but this is a box score metric.
