can't even put into words how i feel right now

just unbelievable to say the least. that's just the luck this franchise has had in the past few years. at this point, i'm just hoping this isn't a career altering injury. hope he can make a complete recovery

you got to feel for the kid. I mean he is coming in with the right attitude and the right work ethic and boom on one simple play goes down and his year is all but done.

Don't forget though, the Lakers did everything possible NOT to play their cards right last season. It was a miracle we got the 7th pick. They'll probably refuse to do it again this year.

no offence, but I'll take what I retweeted and posted last page from a doctor who knows about this injury over what Mike says. But he is right. If the Lakers are smart it will be a whole year to recover.

Oh, I agree with you. I'm not taking what Mike said to the bank. I refuse to accept he'll be out for the year. I think he's back before the end of the year...just my .002 cents...

On the positive, let's just be glad it wasn't the achilles which is what I thought it was when I first saw him down after TNT came back from commercial break

With Scott's coaching philosophies, they might do so unintentionally.

Well when you have something of this magnitude happen on the first game, it's hard not to have such thoughts creep back in.

James WOrthy tweeted (someone find it please) that he too had this same injury and that, as worthy put it, "Randell will be fine".

Thank goodness it was a break (not that that doesn't absolutely suck). But when the commentators started talking about the achilles the thought of what that would do to his career was unbelievably horrible after seeing what Kobe and most go through. I saw somewhere a couple days ago that Paul George was shooting jumpers of some sort already and his was a horrific type of break. Dr. Klapper will probably discuss it on his Weekend Warrior show on Saturday morning. ESPN (radio) I think.

Randle was one of the few bright spots we had for this Lakers team this season. Having him out for the rest of the season both makes our team worse and takes away some of the excitement I had. I wish him a healthy recovery and I'm glad it wasn't anything more serious like an achilles tear.

I know this may be a bit early to bring up. But I'm going to do it anyway.

Before the draft, there were rumors that other teams were passing on Randle because of his right foot. The rumor was that he may need surgery on it, and that it hasn't healed correctly. The rumors were refuted by Randle and the Lakers.

Tonight, he breaks his right leg.

Was Randle's foot not properly healed? Did it play a part in causing this current injury?

Inquiring minds would like to know.

my question is are we really as unlucky as it seems? at what point does a long string of injuries stop being dumb luck and become a trend based on strength and conditioning and/or medical staff? from watching the play it really doesn't look like anything but a freak accident, but it feels like we have multiple freak accidents happen every season
