The thing with Brown and Nance is that they aren't really 18 or 19...they are 22-23...you would expect a little more from established college players.

I hope they can turn things around and make their presence felt. Otherwise we are wasting rebuilding years to develop broken players.

This team looked eerily similar to last years team and the garbage that I watched for the entire season. This team just had different personnel for the most part. Just completely awful to watch yesterday on both sides of the ball; yes, I understand it was preseason, but I seen the same type of crappy offensive system I seen last year. Defensively, we are awful, too.

With the beginning of the regular season soon upon us, and most of our games starting out on the road, this may be a very bumpy ride to the beginning of the season. Just bracing myself...

i haven't watched the second half, but the first half defense made the baby jesus cry. I'm ratcheting down my expectations. and they were 35 wins. the cousins-less kings should look hapless on offense, not like the 2005 suns.

Unfortunately, it has to be, but it must wait until next year. I was so excited to watch the games yesterday...like a kid in the candy store. I come home, turn on the television, get into the game, and throughout, I'm thinking 'this is flat out awful to watch.' This his just ugly basketball. I don't know how I'm going to watch 82 games of this season. However, I did watch last year, so I guess I prepared myself.

In light of the Lamar news and having Brown in the starting lineup, I'm not taking anything from this game really. Russell needs to be in the starting lineup and how often will one of your closest friends be in the hospital fighting for his life?

Our defense looked terrible last night. Either the middle was wide open, or they were raining 3's on us. It seemed like the Kings hit every 3 they took. But the stat sheet had them at 33%.

The one thing I'll say is that even on possessions where we played OK defense and sealed up the middle Sacramento was able to kick it to the wings and hit CONTESTED 3's. This is just off memory of watching it live. I'll have to watch again to see what really went down.

I really did not enjoy yesterday's game. Way too many fouls and it was just ugly from the Lakers perspective.

Well he did finally drain a couple nice 3s. That's a positive .....now keep it up in D league and keep stepping your game up. Go buy one of Trevor Ariza's biographies and study it. You'll have to find ways to compensate as you aren't the athlete he was.

It was rough, no lie. I thought before the season that we were probably a 32 win team and yesterday didn't change my mind about that. Maybe if Russell is in with the starters and Huertas/Russell split time running the second unit, and a little bit more time for Ron we can look better. Anthony Brown gives us nothing. I get that they want to try him out but I'm losing patience with that experiment. It's still pre-season though and that's what you do.

Bottom line is it's going to be tough for us to get wins in the west with this young (and old with Kobe) squad who has not played together much at all. We should have been able to beat the Kings without Cousins though.

No doubt, and I am fine with losing games were I think we gave ourselves the next chance to win, but I don't think we did. That infuriates me.

Another poster compared him to Danny Green; the article from Medina pointed out that's one of the guys he has and continues to mold his game from. If we remember correctly, Green wasn't lighting the world on fire in his first 2 years. He also spent some time in the D-League.

Also had a good system and great coach. Good thing we have those things covered.

I want to see more Black and MWP, less Sacre and A.Brown.

I think part of the poor defense was a small bench lineup, and rookies guarding vets. We were getting killed on the boards with our small lineup, and a guy like Collison was destroying A Brown. That's coaching, poor coaching. Then it seemed some of our guys quit late in the game, started chucking, not boxing out on D, it was ugly.

I know it's preseason and I didn't watch the game (it was around 3/4 am here...) but I am so tired of waking up and checking the boxscore to see that we lost... I've come to expect it and I hate it. It's one thing if you suck in preseason because you are lazy and arrogant after a championship and you know you can switch it on at any time. But isn't there some blabbering after every bad season about "establishing a culture of winning" again? Not like this...

Its preseason and rotations are off. We could have won those first couple games against Utah if we wanted to, Kobe played limited mins as did the starters. And then you have Sacre playing in over time. Sure wins would be nice but you have rotation players and players trying to audition for a roster spot playing big mins.

I wish I could watch them practice defense. Watching the games closely it is very hard to determine what they are trying to do. There are players giving good individual efforts but it doesn't really show up because the team defense is still so weak. I am very thankful we have Hibbert. He will help tremendously till this is figured out.
