I mean I'm rooting for the guy, but are our coach and players looking at a different guy than me? He does look under control out there as opposed to summer league, but his defense hasn't been anything special to me. He stopped one fast break, that's all I can remember.

I like the idea of being a good defensive team that roughs people up a little. We need to be the type of team people are nervous about playing instead of coming in expecting to have career performances. Going to be watching Brown closely as I don't really have a feel for his defense yet.

If he has potential as a solid wing defender, then this is one more reason to keep MWP as a mentor / coach on the floor.

Exactly how I feel... What Anthony Brown are we watching that's different from what they're seeing? Is our perimeter defense so bad that this kid looks like our best defender? What I saw was very okay defense out of him two days ago...

Ebanks looked liked he had more potential than Brown did defensively.

Having a guy that can just blend in and play his role among the Clarkson's, Russells, Hibberts, and Beast's of the world might not be a bad thing. Can't have an All Star at every position.

But dammit, we're going to try!

I feel like we could give Murray a jersey and you wouldn't see a big difference defensively. Looks like they see tools and potential, maybe something in practice, and they're determined to mold something out of their otherwise wasted investment.

I don't need him to be an All-Star at all. He's just a very blah player. I'm okay with a blah player as long as he fits that role and sticks to it. I liked Sasha. I liked Ronny. I liked DJ Mbenga. I like Sacre... I'm willing to like "Crazy Eyes" Anthony Brown, but I don't really want to hear about how he's this perimeter defensive stud. Just seems disingenuous.

At the moment, he looks like the wingman version of robert sacre. Kind of medicore in all aspects, just invisible out there.

I find nothing about him intriguing. I think he should get some D league time and see if he can develop down there. I hate him with the starters. He's C-team material thus far.

Maybe he's shining in practice, in game he's just mediocre. Not really good at anything and doesn't change the game when he's in. He's pretty old for a rookie to tack on "he's young and raw" he could use some time in the D League but not sure if that'll change much.

i've been hugely disappointed with his shooting. super slow release, doesn't even look great coming out of his hands (compare it to russell, whose percentages are meh, but you can see the potential for splash city). his defense is better than your typical rookie, but not enough to make up for the fact that nobody has to guard him for any reason ever. i'm guessing he won't see the floor much this year.

    ^ I tend to agree.

He hasn't been effective spacing the floor, his man collapses off of him and takes away driving lanes for Clarkson/Randle. He's fine on the ball, but he loses position early and often off the ball. He ball watches constantly. He showed good form/speed on his shot inside the 3-point line, but the NBA line is much farther away. He needs a lot of time in the D-League to develop.

I think he and Michael Fraizier will be among many in our search for a "3 & D" SF...

So why did we give A Brown a guaranteed contract wayyyy before training camp. It still makes no sense to me, as a 2nd rounder we did not have to do that, and right now it looks kind of dumb.

And how did he get those incriminating pictures of Jim Buss as a rookie?
