You have the random Clippersfan with the Blake Griffin jersey here but most of the times the got no clue about the game whatsoever. Of course you have a lot of Dallas fans because of Dirk. And a lot of Bulls fans from the Jordan days who happened to keep their Bulls gear haha. But I got a lot of friends who are NBA fans and they support the Knicks or even the Nuggets. But that's just because we do really follow the NBA more or the same as we follow soccer over here. But back to your question. The Clippers fans here will be gone soon again just like all those Heat fans ...
Looks like the low key x-factors or guys that need to step up are our forwards. Itll be a good thing for Ariza to guard Kobe so that way Kobe knows exactly where hes at. if Kobe goes for 30 tonight he is MORE than back lol.
Harden defending the primary ballhandler (like Kobe) isn't a bad thing. His glaring defensive weakness is defending people off the ball because of his defensive lapses/being caught ball watching.
I'd be willing to bet Ariza will be on Kobe.. There's absolutely no reason for them to put Harden on our best player & let him waste energy on defense when they just went out & spent on a wing that's known for his defense.
I agree itll be Ariza. Which Kobe knows his game so he still should be able to get his as much as I respect Arizas D. If Kobe can get Ariza in foul trouble early than its that much better for us even though Arizas offensive game is average at best IMO. BTW-Saw Kobe clip of reporters asking him if Lakers will make the playoffs earlier. Kobe-"I dont know....(Smiles humbly), if I say yes than you guys are going to debate it anyway so why the hell does it matter?". Lmao, classic.
I don't think he was afraid, but he was definitely intimidated by Kobe's presence. Dwight wanted to be top dog and he knew he had no chance of being that here in LA. At least in Houston he could compete with Harden, or so he thought.
Told you guys after Jeanie said that, Dwight would be first up to say, "Uh uh ....wasn't me afraid to play with Kobe"..... Not that I think he was in the literal sense. He just didn't want to be that serious, which is required of our main guy, and frankly our roster sucked at the time. Plus he wanted Kobe gone.
Dwight had the opportunity of a life time - to rise to the challenge with the greatest franchise in the game. He didn't do that. I don't know that that makes him a coward, but I do know that it was a chance to show grit, courage, hard work, dedication, and professionalism. He didn't do any of that.
There were LeBron esque (1st time around in Cleveland) clips of Clown Howard dancing special steps on the sideline with his boys in Houston last year. Think Baylor, West, Wilt, Goodrich, Kareem, Magic, Shaq (well....maybe Shaq ) , Kobe or any of our past CHAMPIONS doing that crap. Peyton Manning this week went ballistic on the scoreboard / giant monitor operator showing clips of his guys celebrating on the sideline before the game was actually over.
This definitely. There was an opportunity for him to rise and he shied away. Nothing changes that part of the story. Did he shy away from Kobe? Did he shy away from the moment? It was probably both, but at least one of them.
I'm interested in seeing how Kobe looks tomorrow. He looked great tonight but I'm hoping he can get a little more efficient. Also with the team likely being down because of JR he has to set the tone for putting up a fight.
i thought he looked pretty damn good as well. many of his shots were right on but just didnt connect. with that said he did have to work hard for a lot of those shots. i really hope someone can step up to take a little attention off of him. when it comes down to it though i was just glad to see him back on the court and to honestly look like the kobe i remember. the guy is unreal
Who can read lips? Some interesting things were said between dwight coward and kobe. All I could make out was : Dwight : I know you dog Kobe: Youre soft Dwight: I know you Kobe: Come try me. Come try me. Try me. Kobe: Youre a "female dog" and youre soft.
Coward is just that: a coward. Swinging his elbows like a punk. Kobe just straight up called him out. That was beautiful. Soft! Indeed. Mental mush is what that guy is. Oatmeal for a brain and heart. I loved seeing Kobe come to Randle's side after the injury. Booz, too. Hope this kid heals up just perfectly and comes out swinging again later this year.
Kobe looked good. He needs guys like Boozer to be aggressive though. Lin will help big time if continues attacking like he did in spurts today. Kobe can get his shot when he wants that much was easy to see even against a solid defender like Trev.
He'll need more easy baskets to have a decent year efficiency wise ... but with this starting unit little talent , poor spacing and Scott love with the midrange game , I'm afraid he won't find many ... 38-40% from the field seem likely
