To me this kind of stuff, like 95% of the approved letters to the editor in L.A. Times sports section about Kobe Bryant is disgusting. Look at what Bryant has left on the floor every single night he has been on it as a Laker. No one in the NBA has ever continued to lace them up and go out there and play with NO time off, or WEEKS less time off for serious injuries (to mere mortal NBA players).... than Kobe Bryant. All for a purpose. To win a championship. And NO ONE in the league's history has ever worked harder at honing his skills and his conditioning and his pain blocking capabilities to do so.

What are the odds? If you had been asked before hand, that a player blows out his achilles tendon and is helped to the sideline, and then because he feels obligated in his quest to get the team to the playoffs, just for a puncher's chance..... walks back across the court no help with the blown achilles to sink 2 free throws?

    Game.....set....match >>> Kobe Bryant

Normally I don't pay any mind to these BSPN rankings and I still don't, but I had to shake my head when you're gonna tell me with a straight face that Brandon Knight is a better basketball player than Kobe Bryant? Moving on.

The way things are going I feel Kobe may outlast Derrick Rose. I keep hearing the worse stories about him, and he definitely has peaked. I guess Kobe can take solace in having a target on his head, but it is hard on his fans sometimes.

Whoever did the polls are on the caveat that 24 is recovering from major injuries that curtailed his last two seasons and that is a reasonable unknown. With a better, competent supporting cast...24 will surprise fans. When that happens, then these talking heads will have their go to excuse..."We knew it all along that when he's healthy..." Idiots...

I haven't paid any attention to that ESPN poll because it's stupid. There are not 92 players in the NBA better than Kobe. His defense may have fallen off, yeah he's in his 20th season and shot poorly last season, but I'm sorry, there aren't 92 guys that get drafted over Kobe if the entire pool of NBA players is put up and everyone has their pick.

Every time someone uses the stats argument against KB, they seem to forget all the scrubs he's had to carry throughout his career.

I don't know of any other superstar that had to endure such Saturday night community gym pick-up teams in his prime AND now the twilight of his career; and yet he still maintains HOF status.

He looked pretty good tonight for the 93rd best player in the NBA.

I don't think there are 30 better players than a healthy Kobe Bryant much less 93. Hey though they're as anti Lakers as they come.

How long 'till Kobe gets sick of deferring , spotting up for shots? I can see his desire to still be the man with some of his forced shots while spotting up instead of quickly moving the ball.On D he's been just plain bad. He looks done to me, a shell of his former self. I hope he see's his limitations and takes a step back, just cruising through this last season letting the newcomers develop a team chemistry for the future.

Kobe has 1 MVP. I think he gave up caring what the media thought long ago, and let's his play do the talking. That being said, I do think he uses it for fuel but doesn't put credence in it. He's third all time in scoring lol and 20 years in. He's doing things never though possible at whatever age he has been. He was the oldest triple double at 30 /10 /10 ever. I expect we'll still see flashes of that, but don't expect him to try to shoulder the load very often any longer.

I do think he'll give us some 5 minute spurts that remind us of the good old days though, and that's good enough for me.

I'm more inclined to lean toward Lakers2015's post (above) (below) than that dour assessment. Not what I've perceived so far. I think he's enjoying not working so hard every play, and being able to turn up the pizazz, and to create for his teammates as well......now when he gets the ball in his spots and often it's just him one on one with some schmo who can't hang with his footwork, game and arsenal. As he seems to me has been doing and to my eyes..... liking it.

Ummm bump? Kobe's looking really good and moving well and shot is dropping from 3 point land tonight. 4 for 6. Real efficient 21 points.
