Seeing those 2 reminded me of the horror of last season.

Kinda like the Mormons with the white long sleeved shirts and ties in the heat pedaling around the neighborhood looking for "converts"...... from the WMC thread to the Optimism thread for next time.

Lakers best player according to Bleacher Report

The Best Player on Every NBA Team Entering the 2015-16 Season
By Adam Fromal, National NBA Featured Columnist Oct 9, 2015

    Stats: 22.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.3 steals, 0.2 blocks, 17.6 PER

For the first time in forever, Kobe Bryant's status as the clear-cut alpha dog on the Los Angeles Lakers is in jeopardy. It surely isn't in the Black Mamba's mind, but his atrocious defense and inefficient shooting have allowed other members of the roster to turn this into a contest.

Could Jordan Clarkson supplant Bryant as the Lake Show's top-ranked member if he continues to prove he's a bona fide stud and not just a player who benefitted from opportunity in 2014-15? Absolutely.

Could Roy Hibbert, who has shown flashes of a working mid-range jumper during preseason action, protect the rim well enough to become the team's most impactful contributor? Sure.

Could a young gun such as D'Angelo Russell or Julius Randle prove to be much further along in their development than anyone could have expected? Without question.

But Bryant is the choice for now, thanks to his unyielding desire to put up points and his ability to serve as a premier facilitator when the situation calls for him to fill such a role. Though he'll no longer play like an All-Star, Bryant is the leader of this team, as well as its top offensive threat.

    Honorable Mention: Jordan Clarkson

Man, I don't want to question our rookies' toughness, but it's a bruised butt. He's really going to miss another game?

On Young, when I read that last year, I wondered at the time if it was bad luck, or those teams were losers in part because of him. I came to the conclusion that it probably wasn't a coincidence.

Their (training staff) are being very cautious. If it were up to Russell, he'd play, but with what transpired with Randle last year and his broken leg, their not taking any chances.

Yeah I don't know how bad a bruised butt is, but if his locker had been next to Kobe's during some of the injuries he sustained and fixed best as could after it happened and then back into the game for him. How you like him with a splint on his shooting and handling hand for a broken finger, D'Angelo? Might be opening his eyes really up as to why Kobe is Kobe. But then he's been confirmed to be a cyborg. TMZ I think, but they're the ones breaking all the news these days, not networks or BSPN.

Also agree Russell's probably not the one making the call.

Good interview, hadn't really heard him before. He has a little bit of Pau's inflection, nice to hear again. All his answers were good and seemed accurate. Was marveling at the physical dude he is and big legs on Brandon Bass in the background left working on his shots, and Julius is over on the right working on his turn around and footwork getting there. Over and over. Of course. That's how Kobe does it.

I know what you mean in this case, but I can give you plenty of sports stories and examples where numbers don't always tell the whole story and aren't always the best way to associate a players worth.

I think we are going to have a hard time remembering that the young Lakers are as young as they are at times this year. Remember, they are just basketball babies.

They will wow us and flabbergast us in the sames games. BUT, it will be a fun ride to watch these guys develop.
