Is it just me, or is it just Brandon's pretty reserved personality speaking to the press, that he by far is the most reserved of the new guys in how he feels about being a Laker? I'm going to guess it's just his personality. Even if it was that he is not doing a great job of forgetting his days with the C Bags, there's NO doubt this guy is going to be solid. And he is going to be pushed by the guys fighting for playing time. Yet another player who only 8 years in (I think he said) is going to have a GREAT year. :twothumbs: :contract:
Roy Hibbert is such a well spoken guy. Great interview and I'm really looking forward to seeing what he will bring to the Lakers. Agreed with others that we may have found our man in the middle for the next long while. Like what he said about Upshaw too. I also really enjoyed Russell's interview. I'm warming up to the kid, although I still think he's got a lot to learn and he's very young at 19. He's different from Randle who truly looks like a young man (beast), Russell still seems like a kid to me.
Julius is just an impressive guy! Smart, personable and you can tell he has IT times 10. Leader. For a really young guy he oozes that alpha dog vibe. Maybe more than Russell even. Really, really well spoken. The TW crew in house has to be besides itself this year with all the behind the scenes possibilities. Peoples' Rookie of The Year contender. So can't wait to see him in games now in his new body with his newly developed skills he's been working on.
Book it. We have added this summer a 7'2" all star caliber center with 8 years experience in the league. I don't think it would be nuts to say when all is said and done this year that Hibbert was a more needed and far better add to the team than "I don't want to play center ever and bang with the big guys" Aldridge.
Wow. Again. Great interview from another important Laker player. Ron is so well spoken and quick and lucid himself now. You can tell he has the hunger to go out there and compete for minutes too but be happy for any role and time he gets. Just love this move by the team so much. Everything I have been hoping for they seem to be doing, specifically giving Upshaw and Metta likely spots on the team. Maybe the sleeker Panda finishes better on layups and actually shoots better too. I bet he is in just incredible shape for a 35 year old player.
Love Jordan and his developing game, especially with the speed and athleticism he plays with. Him and D'Angelo .... the next great young backcourt duo in the NBA. This is going to be so exciting watching the increased talent and depth we have at every position this year. He was looking really good already in Summer League. Slam dunk that he is looking even better now and for first game of the season. He too has put on lean muscle weight making him that much harder to stop.
The one thing that always comes to mind with Russell is "there's going to be some growing pains here". He's got the talent, he's got the mentality, but there's so much that this guy needs to develop. It'll be a little while before he really steps into his own, but the journey to get there will be rewarding.
You want "inside" information on how things are looking behind the scenes in Lakers Land? Fair to say hell yeah we all do!! No problem, listen to Byron himself. My last and most favorite interview by a good margin. As therealdeal gave a heads up in another thread ..... Byron is clearly excited. And you want feedback on key players we all talk about ..... here you go. Loving this year before it even starts.... big time. :twothumbs:
