Tuck missed practice with a knee injury. Hmm. Carr vs. Browns last season: 328 yards, TD - good; 1 INT, 3 sacks - bad. Amerson: allowed 67 receptions, 877 yards, and 10 TDs last season. He had statistically the worst or second worst season as a DB since 2007.
Woof...woof...woof! - The Carr Numbers...efficient. He and the offense kept the defense from being gassed. - Cooper over three digits in yardage...against a top corner in Joe Haden. - Carr, Murray and Cooper? The New Triplets? Maybe one of them will make the SNF montage with Carrie Underwood real soon. - Second decisive touchdown from Seth Roberts. - Who is Gary Barnidge? He's TE. Had over 100 yards receiving and a TD today. Next up is Martellus Bennett. - That Steeler game not looking so daunting if Roethlisberger is still out by then. - The Chargers-Vikes game was a runaway so you figure they'd switch to Oakland-Cleveland... But nooooo! - SMH...at Woodson. Dislocated shoulder and all snuffing out the Browns' last ditch bid for a game tying TD. - Looking like my 8-8 projection has some life. On to The Windy City...
It takes 2 wins to have a winning streak right? I mean I can actually say we have a winning streak. Raiders with 2 quality wins in a row. Bent in the 4th but didn't break in both games. Silver and Black finding out what that winning feeling feels like again. I accept!
I watched the game Carr looked very good; there were a few dropped passes - Cooper, Crabtree, Reece, and Roberts all dropped passes. DBs weren't so bad; the DL was giving McCown a good bit of time for the most part.
The game at Chicago without Cutler is winnable. Clausen is Clausen. They won't go 0-10 on possessions like today against Seattle but our offense if they can somehow maintain momentum will help the defense. The Bears on that side of the coin isn't as dominating like they were in the past. Oakland is building some confidence.
Oakland open as two point favorites... Haven't seen that in quite awhile. Edit: Jared Allen traded by Chicago to Carolina. One less pass rusher that Carr has to worry about this Sunday.
^Stephen A. Smith? That same bombastic clown who was praying that Cooper will not be drafted by Oakland so as not to taint his pro career? F him!
In other news...The Silver and Black is #16 out of Peter King's Power Rankings. He has more weight on his opinions than any of those clown bags on SI, ESPN or FSN combined. As Del Rio sez...add to the New Chapter this Sunday. Chekwa was just recently cut... Armstrong is being phased out. He is the Wesley Johnson of the squad.
Cutler and WR Jeffries could suit up on Sunday. Good! Don't want any excuses if we notch the win. http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2015/10/01/aaron-rodgers-colin-kaepernick-nfl-10-things-think ^This writer thinks Oakland has a Top 10 D? Salient points but our secondary has to grow up. There's 13 more games to go... There's write-ups of the AC/DC combo of Cooper and Carr being the next superstar combo. Oi Vey... Nice stuff but "promises to keep and miles before they go to sleep."
Our secondary is problematic, for sure. As we get more pressure on QBs, that can help to alleviate some of those struggles, but I think that DB is a prime need going into the offseason.
I think we blew that game more than the Bears won it. That fumble from Murray (I believe) was huge. Now time to see how we bounce back
I didn't see the INT (was watching NFL Redzone) but the fumble was a damn shame. He didn't look like he was all there today. I was worried these guys would start reading their press clippings and that we could lose this game which we should not have lost. disappointed in this loss big time.
Blown opportunity today... Growing pains all around. Another game...yet another tight end scoring a TD against us.
