At this point even stubborn Kobe knows what needs to be done.

I could totally see Kobe playing for FC Barcelona or some other team in Spain

Phil has been quietly recruiting Kobe to the Knicks ever since he got there. Just another not-so-subtle attempt.

    It's not happening.

Yeah, that. This is Phil tampering again, trying to get Kobe to come to NY, save his a** from the fans for a bit, maybe show Melo how to be a winner. Good luck with that.

The kid has already said enough dumb s***. Kobe's going to make sure he has an unforgettable rookie campaign, which side the pendulum swings is completely up to Russell.

Yeah he will learn quick how to deal with whatever local access press after games in the locker room being next to Kobe.

What he really said about this was that it showed they love the game. He and Roy actually were saying the same thing about the young guys: they WANT it. The young players on the team WANT to be great and are willing to work for it. Some young guys just get drafted and let that be the end of their development, but these guys get in and work hard. It means so much knowing how hard these guys work and that their effort is turning the heads of the veterans on the roster.

He was a reserve in the 1982 championship team. Was a good role player back in his day.

The bit about Kobe responding to Phil, on leaving the Lakers, not surprising. I don't know why anyone would think Kobe would leave for NY or to ring chase somewhere else. He has said in recent years he won't do that, and I think if he was going to he would have before his last contract extension. If he does, he does, but I can't see it. He seems at peace with where he is in his career, and to genuinely want to help this franchise get better.

The reality is THIS is the kind of loyalty you expect from employees that you reward with big paydays.

Hi Steve Nash! This is professionalism and respect over here! We can't see you in Golden State!
