nothing is wrong with that. Me personally will want to own the team vs just having 5%. So it depends. So yes both people can live in comfort but still different. Unless your hit that billions your still not super wealthy. For me rings is a life experience. But Cole winning 2 rings vs Wade winning 2 rings dont have the same ring to it. Its like Shaq looking down on Howard ring with Lakers. Plus once you win the ring then what? once you start playing with big money now your talking Skyscrapers, Shopping Malls/centers, Mega yachts, building schools, owning sport teams, communities etc. Lets say i just want to live a simple life and content with just 50mil I would rather make 20 more people rich than winning a ring. i would pay the tuition of persons trying to be a doctor lawyer, scientist, etc. Help homeless and mental health. It dont mean i dont or wont strive to win rings it just that i wont put it over money unless its to make more money.

Cole Legacy and Wade legacy not the same. So in his case on the topic with Harden I would rather take the money and not win as the 1st option than win and have less money and win as the 8th man. If i am not as good and can make 50 mil as the 7th man and be a member of a championship team i would be content. But dont give me the option of making significantly more.

Buss Legacy vs MJ Legacy ? which one? both won rings and both help grow the game. Cole 50mil and 2 rings not in their league.

i mean, it's awesome to say you're a 2x nba champ, but at the end of the day no one will remember you and it's not like he was a key member of those teams. it's not like cole's legacy was on the line if he never won a ring or anything. if it's between 400 mil or 2 rings as a bench player where the team still would've won without me, give me 400 mil any day

I can see the truth in both of these “angles.” For me personally, I’d be quite happy with $50 million and two World Championships. If you’re reasonably smart with that kind of money, that’s generational wealth right there, and at some point I’m not sure another $450 million would meaningfully change your life or make you any happier.
I guess it comes down to what you value more: having more money than you could ever realistically need, or having the satisfaction of knowing you reached the absolute top of your profession. Personally, I’d take the $50 million and sleep pretty well at night. :) Just my $.02, of course.

As hard as championships are to come by at any level I would take the rings all day every day. I don't need anyone else to remember championships for me, I remember every single one of them and the kids that won them.

I feel like this leaves us as Kuminga’s best landing spot, but Shams also noted that the Bucks, Blazers, and Clippers were after Watson so I wonder if any of them also pivot to aggressively pursuing Kuminga.

The Denver Nuggets are pivoting and have their eyes directed on six-time All-Star DeMar DeRozan who remains a free agent in demand for contenders, league sources tell me.

I suspect the Clippers will be out on Kuminga considering they are getting Max Strus after re-signing Bradley Beal this week. I’m assuming the Kawhi trade goes through and they will also be receiving Brandon Ingram and Gradey d***, they would already have 17 players on the roster.

Similarly, the Bucks have 17 players under contract and I think it would actually have negative impact for their rebuild and young talent by having Kuminga out there taking 25 shots a game to show why he’s a max contract player…. Kuminga would love it though.

Peyton Watson at $22 mil aav is pretty solid.

Kuminga makes no sense for Milwaukee. Young rebuild. Beerios Kuzma Herro Ware Jaquez Amont just not enough room.

Kuminga to the Lakers makes too much sense. Let’s get it done.

get the Buss out there Jeanie Buss and get her on the buss.

we don’t need her court proceedings holding up the sale. We still need the sale approved. And I’m hoping this won’t hold up our basketball moves.

Wow... for a first and a second only? And at 20m starting wage?

First of all, Cleveland are stacked: Harden, Mitchell, Watson, Mobley, Allen is a serious starting 5, that defense 3-5 is going to help protect their guards quite a bit. Great pickup by the Cavs, they solve their starting wing problem, but still need to figure out general depth. From my calculations, they will have 32m or so to sign Harden as well as being able to add another minimum to round out the roster to 14.

The Cavs sent Schroeder for Mann, and it looks like in this trade they dumped Mann to the Wizards along with a second, along with Strus going out they cleared 31.4m in salary and brought Watson in for 20.4m. Leaving an additional 11m to help resign Harden.

I doubt Denver would have ever sent Watson to us, but 20m is such a steal - feels like there was a lot of good players that went for less than I thought they would. While we seemed to pay market value or slightly above to lock in our guys.

East looks tough this year: Knicks, 76ers, Cavs, Heat, Boston, Pistons are all gunning for the top 4 and then some other solid teams in the Hawks, Magic, Raptors and Pacers who want to get into the picture too.

West seems weaker compared to the East overall this year? OKC & Spurs are still the best of the NBA in my opinion, then there is Lakers, Denver (who got worse), Rockets (who got better), Wolves (who knows?) as the top 6. I can't see Warriors, Clippers, Suns or Blazers breaking into that top 6.
