She's got Linda, bro. She'll be fine (kidding).

I think whatever side you land on, one thing remains clear: Jeanie LOVES the Lakers. She sold the team to Mark in good faith, and honestly, it made a lot of sense at the time — crazy price tag, she kept her role as governor, and he had an outstanding track record with the Dodgers.

My guess is this whole situation hit her like a whirlwind, and she genuinely believes she's doing the right thing by fighting back. I get that. I'm not taking a side, because I understand having that sentimental attachment to something you love — especially when it was something your father loved too.

On the other hand, maybe it's just time for her to say goodbye, as heartbreaking as that would be. The other Buss kids seem to have already made peace with that, collectively signing the tag-along agreement to cash out their equity and move on.

Yeah I think Jeanie’s heart has mostly always been in the right place. She cares about the Lakers, I just think her priorities and strategies are often outdated and naive.

So at this point if she cares about the Lakers, I hope she realizes soon that fighting the sale hurts the franchise. Causing drama and prolonging the inevitable is a bad look for us and just delays the inevitable org reshuffling that we need.

yeah, that was my point earlier--it's clear it's over. how important is it to drag it out for the sake of principle? i've been in situations where i really wanted to hang onto something that people wanted to take, and i just accepted that a) it was going to be taken, and b) the period of time between now and then wasn't going to be the thing i wanted, anyway.

accept that you did your best and acted in accordance with your own principles, and the system didn't bend to your will. in her case, she's already made one mistake in that i think if she steps aside gracefully in public (no matter how made she is at the siblings), i think she's at least maintained as a mascot of sorts. but that ship has now also sailed.

and this isn't me saying i welcome our saudi overlords or whatever. just know when you've lost and don't compound it. you can keep integrity and invest your time and energy into new things that are fulfilling and valuable to you.

it's up to you how much your anger about the situation impacts your daily life. and now i'm talking to myself.

Yeah, the Buss feud is a distraction.

She should partner with an investor and buy out her sibling's 14.8%.

She should have just bought the whole thing if she cared so much. But she wanted the billions in liquidity and to still pretend she’s part of the team.

Not having a clue what is actually happening behind those closed doors I support Jeanie in whatever she does. More info comes out I will adjust my thinking accordingly.

the consolation is, of course, that she has pocketed probably over a billion dollars from this team and she will be more than fine. Heck, she could afford a lifetime of season box seats.

The way i look at it as a minority owner you should step aside and let the majority owner take charge good or bad, Ypo sold it and still want to be in control.

I take a more cynical take - these guys love being the owners of the Lakers and the cache that brings not necessarily the basketball team at this point. You are a celebrity and one with power to be a playa (who gets what seats, give out favors, the face time, etc). Throw in the fact that while they're extremely wealthy they all don't really have anything of note that they've accomplished (jeannie did get that title) outside of being a Buss whose associated with the Lakers feels more like a mid life crisis situation to me.

Please let it go Jeanie. Bow out as gracefully as still possible. Your family probably hates you at this point. Don’t make the fans feel the same prolonging what is already inevitable.

    You dont
You dont sell your dad 67 Chevy he left you and tell the new owner you will hold on to the keys and or tell him how to drive it. Its no longer yours even if your attached, I personally dont think they should sell but at the same time they need to step aside. Then each time the team sells the next buyer is not obligated to keep transferring their shares so its tricky. I think her siblings are right on this one.
