From the expectations and excitement of Mark Walter buying the Lakers to the not yet fully disclosed reality of this and what it means for the Lakers future.

We're actually going to have to start listening this fool because he has an in with Iger and has known him for decades.

    Iger vacations with Silver....EW!
Might help with Luka's suspension for getting too many Ts next season, though. Maybe we can get him a more favorable whistle.

    On Iger and CP

Luka will talk to ownership next week

Silver and Iger are tight and vacation together because of the billion dollar ABC T.V. Deal that Iger gave to the N.B.A. While running Disney. Basically changed the landscape of the N.B.A. And player contracts. And set up what you see now with streaming. Damn Iger can you go down on my streaming Hulu cost. It keeps going up.

so I definitely would’ve seen Silver pushing Iger to this deal. And easily approving it.

and why did Mark Walters sale so fast??? Federal investigation. This was the olive branch and deal they told him to take. It’s too obvious.

Well, first, let’s not pretend that this is new. The football teams (the real football, not the egghand) have been handled that way forever.

Abramovich buying Chelsea was probably the first? There was doom and gloom. Nothing REALLY happened on the global scale except the leagues got top heavy.

That is not to say that the fandom fabric didn’t change, but it wasn’t the end of football.

At the least do Bob Myers or better rather than Chris Paul if going to do it.

Chris Paul would have some kind of gig here. Don’t know what it is. Director of player personnel or scouting. He lives in Bel-Air. He’ll be doing something with this ball club cause it sure won’t be with the Clippers.

he’s got a ton of ideas. Knows Reddick so wouldn’t surprise me. Don’t think it would be taking over Rob.

but just as we saw with Frieland and Zaidi Paul will be doing something. Iger wants his guy he trusts. And that is Paul.

I think Rob and Paul can work together because Paul is a grinder. He’s a guy who will look at tape.

    he’ll roll his sleeves up.

yeah, i could see paul being brought in to work with rob and not in place of him. having been head of the players' association plus the long career, i wonder if paul has a lot of good relationships across the league with people in management positions elsewhere. this is what i've wanted to complement rob in the front office--someone who is known and liked around the league. these gms are always doing each other favors. the bigger your network the better, and one way i think rob has hindered us is that he has too many broken (indy, sac) and too few good (wash, utah) relationships across the league.

I agree with all of this but why oh why does this person have to be Chris Paul???
Might as well bring in Crappy Pants Pierce, Blake Griffin, and RoboticCornrows as soon as he retires.
Now I’m totally wishing we can go back in time and convince the Buss family not to sell.
This just gets worse and worse.

For the admins: So, it’s okay to wax political now, as long as it’s bashing Trump?
There is currently zero concrete evidence, at this time, connecting the new group to the President.
If there becomes some in the future, then I wouldn’t be down with this, no matter which dirty side of the isle the President resides.
But that’s okay because many here ignorantly blame All of our country’s problems on Trump and Israel. It’s lazy, a cancer within our social media system, just not true and shows a blatant lack of FACTS regarding what’s happened in our country over the past 30 years.
But carry on with the deception.

No of course not and it has already had the kibosh put on it. Currently. Guess you missed it but managed to get your 2 cents in while doing so?

    LMFAO.

    Exactly.

As I've said, time will tell. The optics aren't good, but it is what it is.

Everybody is just speaking out their a** and guess what they "think" may happen, that's including myself. I tend to follow the money, and that's usually a good indicator of where things will end up or what the person's intentions are; we'll see where the new ownership falls in that with respect to Rob, continuing the expansion of the FO, etc. Instead of reading through all the BS and essay long book reports, thesis, and dissertations.

i think the immediate despair feels a little overblown, much like the immediate euphoria to the walter acquisition.

Everybody here needs to do fifty pushups, thirty squats and wall jumps and then run a 10k...lol. Breathe, all will be well. We have what we need to win the championship this season and may still get more. There is so much in the unknown zone I am going to take the wait and see approach. Just for the record, I heard it was some strange mouse with big ears that was going to be running the show once all was said and done.
