I think so. Probably has a good relationship with him and this is a good way for her to get herself back in the door and on tv as I feel like I have rarely seen her over the past few years after we clearly froze her out.

Walter appears to have committed some level of insurance fraud at a rate in the billions. He’s got major problems going on. If the feds don’t let up then every option is on the table for him and he may have to take what he can get for anything tied to him.

I think things could be smoothed over with Shohei especially if Friedman is still around. But keeping him happy is far down the list of concerns for Walter right now.

i think ballmer was the first to just baldly purchase press members. ramona almost instantly lost credibility, and i think that's the main reason others didn't follow the model.

tbh, morey's whole thing was doing the press favors so they'd reinforce his genius to the masses. it worked great for him, until people finally started asking for tangible results.

Yeah, I doubt Ohtani is going to leave when he won 2 rings and the Dodgers have kept spending the money that he helps bring in (which is over a billion dollars in revenue) to try to make the team better. They signed people like Tucker and Diaz (god he sucks now lol) for like 80 million dollars a year. They look poised to pay Tarik Skubal 300-400 million.

Even if MLB institutes a salary cap, the Dodgers still have a deep young prospect pool that can make an impact. And less of these bad money splurges lol.

If the NBA allowed teams to sign young players for "cheap", it would've been a big advantage with Walter, but unfortunately, we can't just buy international players.

Irwin said on a recent show that his Lakers source said Walter had only been involved in the business side of the Lakers, not really the basketball stuff at all. Said it was kind of like “you guys handle it” to the FO in place. I think he said there were some frustrations of us being so slow to build out the FO, as we still have not added that mythical assistant GM, but he said it had nothing to do with the sale.

My thinking is maybe that’s part of the Jeanie 5 year clause, maybe it’s more explainable now that he’s in legit trouble and may have been trying to build us out a bit to flip the team the whole time. To me that sort of seems like what this always was, as reports are coming out he may not have even had the money to buy the team in the first place. Pretty scummy and shady, but what else would we expect from a billionaire. Definitely seeing the grass isn’t always greener thing right now, as we’ve gone from the Laker family, to another Lakers fan, to 2 guys who just wanted a team and we are the best one, and a great asset for them.
