Wild career for Westbrook, I thought he was gunning for 20 seasons but he wanted to be a contributor and not just sit on the bench. Enjoy retirement as a legend.

The NBA should’ve never allowed this. And it’s suspicious as f*** that Walter sold them this quick. I’m pretty blindsided. Have no idea what this means about this team. One thing about Ballmer we know where the money is. Iger and Kushner. Kushner as in Jared Kushner who’s father was trying to blackmail his brother on tape.? So we’re essentially owned by the Trumps? Not gonna get political but it’s kind of head scratching. Didn’t see it coming.

feels like Mark Stabbed me in the back. Wait you want us but you don’t want us. Buisness is buisness but f***???

what does this mean for my team? See I’m a little old myself I know when Fox bought the Dodgers the cluster**** it was. Good move Lebron. Silver get on your knees. You have no spine. Have it Lakers fans. I’ll support but I don’t know what it is. Why persue Kuminga when you’re trying to sale a team?

was it that bad? And what’s up with his investigation? He took the Dodgers to the White House he must have been dealing. Does Jeanie run the
That’s the way to do it. You don’t want to hang around too long. Other people should know that. lol.

    Russ should be celebrated.

I hated him when he was here. Hated the move when it happened, hated how it went and hated his lack of self-awareness that doubled down on all the bad things it were already happening.

But he is a great dude.
A hardworker. Like Kobe liked and publicly complimented.
A great teammate, every guy that played with him always said good things, especially rookies and end of bench guys. It takes someone really humble to connect with those guys.
Great sense of community, there's great stories with him and fans.

He had a very good career, made historic things like averaging multiple triple-double seasons before it was a thing. Always gave his all and never acted superior and that's what you ask from a sports athlete.

    Wish him the best!

I keep logging on hoping for REAL Laker news.

All I get is some dudes with more billions buying the team and some ex Laker ringless scrub retiring.

    How about some real news?!

I read somewhere that Cam Carr is expected to win Rookie of the a Year and help lead the Lakers to the title. Oh, I think maybe I was the one who wrote that?

Westbrook is a top 50 player, I get he was bad for us, but the constant slander bothers me.

I tried so hard to be good at a sport and sacrificed so much to only come up short. I see him, who made it so far and it bothers me that other people who don’t know what it takes can just put him down.

Missed this earlier but it has to be that bad IMO for the league to push it through.

As long as I’m wearing my tin foil hat, I wouldn’t be shocked at all if the league helped put this in play. Can’t imagine they wanted any parts at all to having both LA teams being dragged through lengthy legal battles.

Russ is a first ballot half of famer. It didn’t work out for him here but I still think his overall legacy is fine and won’t be tarnished.

Russ had a good start and middle career.
    The end was astronomically bad.
I don’t hate the man, but man did I hate how he was absolutely unwilling to change ANYTHING about his game for the betterment of the team while he was here. If he did, and we still lost, at least he would have gained our respect as a dude who played team first ball.

To be fair, he did go from a 1st option, to a third and then even agreed to come off the bench.

It’s a shame he never won a ring. He had a really good period of about 10 years where he either couldn’t get over the hump with Durant in OKC, or he was on teams that weren’t healthy enough to compete.

Great player and a much better human.

I still remember his dunk on Gobert when he was on L.A. .. was pretty crazy.

I really feel like the 'perfect' coach could have gotten a lot more out of that guy.. he was wild and stubborn. He cooked 90% of the league for well over a decade.

I feel like an offensive savant could have made it work. Russ and Harden did. So did PG and Russ, he played well alongside Jokic, Kawhi etc etc.

I personally was pumped when he came, he just came off that crazy stretch with the Wizards where they won’t like 85% of their last third of the season to make the playoffs and Russ averaged 18/14/14 or something crazy.

I thought AD as the pick and roll partner, Lebron as the first option and a 3&D guy or two and we were going to win. Disappointing outcome all around.

    it's his own fault

He never took accountability for any of his poor games, crappy shooting, etc. His attitude was horrible. Those things can overwhelm the good ones does, and he has nobody to blame except himself.

He never claimed to be a shooter. That was not why he was a great player. Many great players have or had glairing weaknesses. Some are able to improve on that and some dont. He had a long career and and when you play for a lon time you cross era. What works in one era may not transfer to the next.

Dude literally left everyone in the dust.
