Either that investigation into Walter is going really bad or he just couldn’t resist making an easy $2 billion in 18 months.

The new owners are Jared Kushner’s brother and the Disney CEO…. They do not give me the warm and confident feeling of doing whatever it takes to win championships. These guys are about maximizing profits and I would not be shocked if they mandate that the Lakers never go into the luxury tax because they don’t want to pay it

I’m not liking this. Walter and company had an incredible track record with the Dodgers. What have these guys done?

Lol. A f***ing Kushner but at least Iger was a competent executive.

I don't think even the lakers can bring in enough revenue to get to this market valuation. Iger is only worth like 700 million per Google.

Hopefully they don't go Portland el.cheapo on the team

I don't see how this is a good thing. At least with Walter you have the bones of a very well run sports organization. Thwt federal.investigation may have legs

    Trump strikes again!

He pulled this investigation onto Walter to get his family member the Lakers!

    It's the federal investigation.

Sucks, though. Back to two redundant players in the backcourt, a crappy owner, etc.

I had hope because the summer was good, lived with the Reaves deal, and now we have this shi**y ownership group coming in; we're f*****.

yeah, can't see how this can be construed as positive. i wasn't as sold on walter as many, but i'm...less sold here.

why? so we can hire, like, eric trump? i'm not confident these guys would know who to peg for rob's replacement.

wow. i guess waler's legal concerns were a bigger problem than we thought. i don't think a guy with his wealth bought the lakers looking to flip them for a couple billion dollars

can't say i'm thrilled about the new owners. these guys see nothing but dollar signs in everything and my fear is they cheap out on running the team

doesn't seem like walter ever really owned the team really. expected big changes from him and nothing changed. he kept the old guard around and never really made his mark

I’m more interested in what people do, not what they say. Josh was also part of the efforts to make FIFA even more disgraceful.

All I know is a federal investigation was opened into Walter and now the new ownership group is led by the brother of a member of the Trump family. Won’t be surprised if the investigation into Walter conveniently just fades into the abyss like it was never a thing.

    The whole thing stinks.

Iger was awful at Disney, ran the parks more greedily than anyone before him, ruined Star Wars, put out so many awful Disney+ shows, etc, I hate this so much. The Walters group cares about winning, Iger cares about money and his ego, f***. I was so happy to finally have Iger gone at Disney, now he owns my favorite team.. This is a guy who resigned as CEO, but stuck around and made the new CEO’s life miserable, to the point he had to step down so Iger could take over again because he missed the power. Imagine this dude and Rob’s egos clashing. Oh no, we’re run by the Bobs lol. To me this is a disaster.

    1) Adam Silver forced him to sell. Too much legal drama involved in the NBA with players fixing games, Kawhi situation, and now this.

    2) Walter saw an easy $2b profit and took it feeling the investigation would be too much of a distraction. Understandable.

    3) Kusher and Iger were focused on the Las Vegas expansion team which they felt was already getting too pricey. So they purchased the Lakers for $10 billion instead.

    4) Also, I'm pretty sure the investigations were already underway before he purchased the majority stake of the Lakers.

I feel the new ownership are more interested in flipping the Lakers down the line than winning, though. Iger did a terrible job running DIS. Sold all my stock because of him and the poor leadership he left behind.
