AR and Luka know they are strong championships contenders now and for the foreseeable future. I'm doing that fist thing too...lol.

I want AR to bring the Lakers to AK for a mini camp next summer. We can do midnight waterskiing.

ehhh, it depends. There are guys I don't really agree with but they are always respectful and interesting with their takes. Heck, even you and abeer go at each other but are almost always respectful. For me, there are guys who are not that respectful and really go at other posters with nothing much more than bravado. I turn them off because there is not much to be gained by listening to them. That being said, when the discussion gets interesting and I seem to be missing context, I hit the "show ignored content" button.

That is a good feature because sometimes it shows me that I should pull someone off the ignore list and also makes me realize exactly why someone is on it.

AR is already a strong second option and very close to being a first if not there already. I don't know much about contracts but very soon Austin's will be recognized for the steal that it is. He has shown he can carry the team when other stars are out. This season he has been freed to elevate his game even more. He has also shown himself to be willing to sacrifice for the betterment of the team. It has been quite some time since we have had such a leader. The Lakers are back!!

That IS a good feature. In all my time here I have put one guy on ignore, and that was 2 seasons ago with the dude who just would not stop spamming every page hate for Redick and LeBron. For like about a week. And even during that week I would still check on what I was missing and finally took him off. He was gone in about 3 more weeks with the kept on asking to be banned thing he was doing.

But, but, he’s not an All NBA first team level defender, so he sucks!

We still can trade him for LaVine and now money works even better.
    LaVine making like 49 millions
In 39 games, the 31-year-old player averaged 19.2 points (47.9% from the field, 39% from beyond the arc), 2.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists.

    Bleach report lolz

Have no idea who's that, but he works for NBA media it means I should trust him (not)

    10. Austin Reaves, Los Angeles Lakers

    1 of 10

Let's just ether our mentions right off top, shall we? Lakers fans will hate seeing this label attached to their homegrown star, and they will—as they should—rebut with a gesture toward the near-perpetual growth on Austin Reaves' stat sheet.

Here's the counter: Reaves is regarded (and now compensated) as a full-fledged star, but his production just doesn't paint him with that kind of brightness.

He reads more like a good-to-very-good offensive player, and once that gets coupled with his disastrous defense, it adds up more to a strong support piece than an actual building block. If you're looking for transcendent talent, his stat sheet just doesn't show it: 21.5 points, 5.7 assists and 2.6 threes per outing the past two seasons. Good numbers, not overwhelmingly great ones. And not necessarily this-guy's-a-max-contract-player-for-sure production for a one-way contributor.

Reaves' playoff tests have been rocky, too (40.9 percent shooting overall, 29.3 percent from range his last two trips). It really makes you question his ability to fill the sidekick role on a contender, which is exactly what the Lakers need and expect from him after exhausting their asset collection this summer.

People still seem to not understand the value of having a literal Luka clone as the second best player.

Pippen and Jordan being close to one another in a sense. Or Steph and Klay. You find a common strength (defense/playmaking for Bulls, shooting for GSW) and you lean into it.

We found a common strength of on-the-ball creators and "foul merchants". We should f***ing lean into it.

I agree and I think that is what Rob is doing now that LeBron is gone. We have a roster coming together that is going to be strong where AR and Luka aren't as much, allowing their strengths to carry us. I'm f***ing leaning!! Championship incoming!!

I mean... a couple of things....

AR averaged 23.3/4.7/5.5 on 49% shooting. There were around 10 players close to these results in the NBA last season and we had 3 of them, including AR, which for sure didn't help his stats, lol.

Goddamn these people (and some posters on this and other Lakers sites) are idiots.

The irrational hate for Laker players throughout the years never ceases to entertain me.
It’s almost as if these fools never watch the players they bash.
AR was putting up MVP numbers when Luka was out.
On a similar note, Stephen A can Fawk ALL THE WAY off with his pitiful little apology to players like Kyrie, who who lambasted back during Covid for not taking an experimental drug that has now been proven to be deadly for so many around the world.
