Is that true though? I was under the impression that virtually all S&P 500 corporations use LinkedIn to source managerial positions.

If Microsoft and Amazon, companies 100x the size of the Lakers are using LinkedIn to source and recruit jobs, why wouldn't we?

I think it's just forward-thinking.

I know this is gospel but what exactly are we basing that on? It’s been a pretty good off season so far with a chance to turn excellent if Kuminga signs. On a day to day basis there’s not one person here that knows anything about their jobs or duties. I’m channeling devil’s advocating savant Slick now.

 

I may be able to accept it regarding Kurt, who has been in all sort of game-related positions for 4 decades. Linda, OTOH, can go to hell.

 

She has been a business partner of Jeanie’s and close friend since Jerry made Jeanie GM at 19 years old of the Los Angeles Strings Tennis team he owned, in 1981, shortly after buying the Lakers in 79, and brought Linda in to help with that. Does anyone actually think She is involved in basketball decisions with Walter owning the team? In any event turn your hate to Walter now for being a bad owner too, as was Jeanie for those who hated her …. for agreeing not to clear them all out as a condition of buying the Lakers which he seriously wanted. Mark’s got this I have a feeling … stop stressing over it.

Walter buys Dodgers and hires best player evaluation and scouting talent and boom they soon have the best farm system in the Majors.

Mark Walter buys Lakers he starts the same way with hiring a successful college coach with strong defensive teams as his scouting and player evaluation consultant and boom look at our Summer League team how deep and how great on defense … which just gets after it and is headed for a championship it looks like. They just keep coming!!

I understand it's not a desirable position under Rob and people might not want to hitch their wagon to him if his future is unclear. I understand that might keep you from your top choices, but throw money at it and get someone in there. You can always upgrade later.

Still an understaffed scouting department is indefensible.
