Man..that roster is going to get torched all season. The 135-134 shootouts will be exciting though. I'm amazed that some folks around here, have totally dropped, all that "Defense!!!" Yap.. in order to hype up this collection of offense first guys. I love scorers..but damn...somebody has to be more than average an D. Kessler can't be the only one. We might as well keep Vando..he and Walker will be our only line of defensive resistance on a nightly basis. If JJ can't figure out how to incorporate Vando in with this band of gunners; he doesn't know wtf he's doing.

 

We are still under the 1st apron right? I suggest trading Jake and Dalton for Thybulle in a S&T. Thybulle and Vando both, can't shoot a lick, but they would be a huge shot of defensive intensity added to the mix.

I'm all for keeping Vando and starting him if he can earn it. Nothing given to anyone. JJ should absolutely be able to work something out offensively. With that said, we aren't going to be as bad on defense as some think. We will see who ends up starting and go from there. When you have an anchor like Walker, it changes a lot of things. IMO it makes Vando much more valuable to us. Point of attack and an anchor makes it easier for the others to be effective. Start developing Carr right away. There is a lot we can do.

I imagine it's A) lesser amount with POs. B) more $ in a straight up or TO attached. C) we walk away.

With the position we're in, how Rob operates, how deep these conversations have gone and how every agent has beat Rob at the negotiation table this summer...i think we land on option A.

The more I look at the players we signed the more optimistic I am. It is going to be hard for teams to double Luka or Austin without paying a price. They can do what JJ likes, dribble, shoot and pass plus they do have defensive abilities. We are going to be Joe Morgan or Pete Rose, a tough out.

 

One thing for sure we will either fly or crash. Analytics vs Eye test and Know how.
