Exactly it's a tight race. So we have to lower expectations as the difference between 7th and 3rd is just a few games. The real grind starts in the playoffs.

What style of basketball is this team going to play. They have the ultimate half court weapon in Doncic but now have a couple of guards who can really push the basketball up court with speed

If we get Kuminga, I wouldn't go A+ because I don't like the POs we gave out. But I'd be pretty damn happy. We just need someone to plug into that spot for a year. If he pops, awesome. If he doesn't, well by next summer Vando will be an expiring (pretty sure he'll pick up his PO) and we should be able to find somebody.

Does ANYONE on the team besides maybe Vando who won’t play enough to use it in retaliation have any kind of chippy … mean … to their game now? Mamu, Kessler, Grimes? Maybe Adou. if he plays?

If Austin and Luka prime and need proven defensive help but Lakers refuse to let's say trade Carr and Thou would you consider that undercut? Have to keep in mind LeBron and AD won a title but the team consistently struggled with defense in the back court. Fast forward and if someone ask what would be lakers area of weakness.!your right back to the back court defense. So how was AD and Lebron was supposed to win? In this case Austin and Luka have not won yet AD and Lebron did.

i'll just respond to myself with this:

    https://soaringdownsouth.com/hawks-...istic-jonathan-kuminga-sign-and-trade-partner

that's from the hawks' side--which doesn't sound entirely uninterested...

I don’t do fit. I do player. Sign Kaminga or Hachimura. We need the balance. Hachimura with Kessler and Luka would be incredible. Seamless. So much spacing. Kessler plays to what Rui does.

if Not Bring Kaminga first. Yall know I want Kaminga. Been saying it. Cause this is the perfect situation for him to thrive in. We don’t want you to score 30 but if you can score 30 go score 30 we want you to play perimeter defense. Use your athleticism. Go to the basket. Attack the rim. And get to the free throw line. Between Luka and Kaminga Kessler will have a lot of lobs.

Nobody’s trading Ayton with Kesslers durability we definitely need Ayton. Also I don’t need Kessler playing 42 minutes. I want to keep Kessler fresh as possible. Because I care about the playoffs. That’s my concern. I want Walker out there in the playoffs. So Ayton will keep him fresh. That’s how this works. Use Ayton for the luxury having this backup Center for 1 season at 8 million.

Yeah I want to keep Kessler at 30 minutes or less in the regular season. Ayton is now one of the best backup centers in the league. Between him and some Mamu at the 5 minutes, let's keep Kessler fresh. If it turns out Mamu is the starting 4, and not a backup at both the 4 and 5, I wouldn't mind a third center at the vet min.

So was it his idea to bring in AD as well? Just like all draft picks don't go as hoped all signed players or trades is just the same.

I feel like we're turning into those Mitchell/Gobert Jazz teams, except we have a better version of Mitchell/Conley in Luka/Austin.

I don’t know how viable a Lebron sign-and-trade is at this point. I think we would have to execute it as soon as the moratorium lifted before we put pen to paper for our other transactions. Need his cap hold on the books to do sign and trade, need to clear his cap hold to execute other transactions. I also think it could only work if we took back essentially zero salary in which case the other team could probably just sign him outright.

Maybe a three team trade where for example if say GSW wants gets into a bidding war and wants to offer LeBron $20M. They send an asset to a team like Brooklyn to dump $20M salary, we get a smaller asset like a second rounder, and we send Lebron to his preferred destination. Maybe we shed some additional salary as part of that transaction too (essentially leveraging GSW to pay Brooklyn to eat Knecht or Vando’s contract)

If I was the Lakers FO I’d reach out to Bron’s camp and let him know we’d be down to help facilitate something like that if it happened to work out and he came to a decision in time for this to be viable for us… but I’d also let him know that if he does end up needing more time to come to a decision that there are no hard feelings and we’d have a veteran’s minimum waiting for him if he changed his mind after surveying the landscape around the league.

Pelicans have entered Bulls/ Blazers levels of overvaluing their guys

But watch me say that and Boston actually prove to be dumb enough to pony up the Murphy price.

    Speaking of Boston

I mean, if we work it out.....we can add Bronny to the mix and see if we can get a little pick back somewhere or something.

Teams are really watching the those tiers and running scared of big long contracts.

What would we all collectively do if the Cap was created to get Kuminga AND Rui. I feel like that's unnecessary and redundant, but still.....humor me.
