Watson is a gamble at 30M; he didn't finish the season either, and we don't really know what kind of playoffs performer he is. He's more of a hypothetical than Duren or Kessler.

From what I’m reading, Denver is all in on Watson and they’re planning a 28-32m offer. This could be posturing.

But they’re most likely looking to trade Braun right now. If that doesn’t work they’ll move onto Cam Johnson and lastly Aaron Gordon. I assume they want draft compensation back too for Cam or Gordon.

The likelihood of them trading Watson is very low. You’d have to give them both firsts and swaps.

A trade that I like is Gordon for 32m, we send them Ayton (8.1) and S&T Rui (16.4). But that hard caps them at the 1st Apron and makes it hard to sign Watson. So they won’t do it.

Most likely they just dump Braun to Chicago or Boston.

See suspense must keep picks. Jokic to delay signing his max. I wonder why? Makes no sense. But for all the talk of it being a lock he still hasn’t signed his extension.

I would just much rather have Gordon at 31 million than Watson at 30

It's tough I get the logic with Watson as he's far younger but Gordon is an NBA final caliber difference maker. Denver would get a lot worse flopping btw the two

    From Scotto this morning

Were we really thinking about replacing Austin with Herro?

Rob, you sure you know what you're doing back there?

I just saw that & was about to post. You're the man.

Interesting piece of info. I'd like to know the rest of the pieces. Makes me wonder...

Edit. I think Ware had like an 18 game sample size (last year) where he put up great numbers but just think about this: you're really trading multiple picks (if Reaves is included) for a worse player and a center who has a questionable motor and a small sample size this past year? Could be mistaken on that.

Or is this an alternative if Reaves walked?

I need confirmation and more details...

The level of delusion that Rob is actually going after RFA's is funny, though. We've seen Rob work the last 7-8 seasons and know how he works. @Weezy was spot on the last page, and his concern is valid.

FYI: how many Bill Duffy guys do we have on the roster now? LOL. But it's cool. Don't really care. FA will start, and I hope he has a couple of surprises up his sleeve.

I thought Austin isn’t all that great?
For those who aren’t sold on him, this would be a great deal.

I like Ware's potential but he's a risk not an answer. Spo doesn't trust him yet and I trust Spo. I hate Herro. I don't think his outlook on the game is a very professional one. I think he's a mid to low #3 on a championship team and isn't durable. He's on an expiring, so you're about to have to pay him. You're not giving up both picks for a rental.

Also f*** getting Heat guards with injuries or guys who have only popped in their system. We've been burned every time there.

I can't imagine Austin was involved unless we were the ones getting the picks and historically we don't acquire fists during competitive windows.

Austin himself said he didn't think he was going to be still be Laker with how the negotiations were going. So sounds like the negotiations had reached a point where we were at least looking at alternative options for a universe where Austin was a Piston or a Net.
