At this point…I’m warming to the nuclear option you outlined. Renounce everyone and make the massive offers to Duren or Watson. At least we’ll have the core for the next few years set. It was always going to be tough to walk the tight rope of bringing back some of our guys and making meaningful improvement and I’m becoming less confident we can do it.

 

Essentially this team beat the Rockets one of the best 3-D teams in the league with this roster. Durant played a couple of the games. And Luka was out.

Luka plays we legit beat Spurs OKC. You have to see what this team can be.

I remember back in the day Jerry West would say you have to let this team gell. Derick Fisher Robert Horry Rick Fox I didn’t know what that meant. I wanted Tom Gugliotta. I wanted power forward for Shaq.


But I got it. Let this team develop some coehisvness. Everybody was chirping and we got Javelle Mcgee not sexy but had a purpose. Dwight not sexy but bought something. Danny Green.

so let’s see what we got cooking. Small moves add the Robert Williams. Add the Mitchell Robinson to Ayton.

you still have Ayton at 27 with Luka 27 let’s add to this roster. It’s hard to play us. I watched that Houston series and there was nothing they could do.

Ellis is UFA Grimes might be on the way out, Philly just drafted another guard. If Marcus wants similar money; go with the young guys. I don't know why we didn't make any moves; maybe players we thought would be available aren't any more? However we all know how Free Agency moves lately...most of these guys are going to resign with their own teams. Trades is a better option than banking on free agency. I think we need two more guys. A big and a wing.

I just honestly don't believe any of the big name RFA are actually going anywhere. I could be wrong, but we'll see soon.

 

I will only be happy letting them go if we bring back one who is worse on offense but excellent on D. WE NEED TWO WAY PLAYERS!

 

We bring back the same team as last season and we maybe win one game against either OKC or Los Spurs.
It’s time to get more athletic, and it can’t be just the youngins.
So much needs to go right for our FO to overhaul this roster.
I’m hoping for one significantly improved starter and two dependable bench players to be swapped in.
Is that too much to ask for in one summer with our assets?

Reports are we didn’t offer Lebron a contract yet so who knows. I think the number 1 priority was Austin. We had a number but didn’t expect Detroit to come as hard. I think now we’ll focus on other things. Lebron Rui Ayton Smart other free agents.

So as good as this sounds this isn’t Ron Harper with Jordan. Edwards needs touches Lamelo needs touches. Since Chino Hills that kid has been the man with all the touches wanting the ball and shots. That just doesn’t go away.

all the guys mentioned I haven’t seen one average more then Aytons 12 Kessler at 14 points.

you do realize Aytons Sacrafice of 12 is due to playing with 3 of the most ball dominant shot makers in the league all averaging almost 25 or more. Anybody see Chet’s average??

Lebron Reaves and Luka. Ayton could easily average 22 the job is to board which he does except when it’s OKC and we’re down 2-0 and It’s on national tv on ABC. but for the most part he does his job.

any era Kareem Shaq Gasol. Bynum you gotta get the big man touches to keep him in it. They will all tell you that. Luka needs to learn.

I can’t stress enough how much Ayton is needed in a playoff series when you gotta throw the ball down low or you need your big to make jump shots routine in the pick and roll. I haven’t seen Gafford able to do that. But he was exposed in the finals when he couldn’t do that. And Porzingis and Horford routinely could do that. Just so you know.

Look at our league. You put yourself at a disadvantage when you do that. Ayton can do that. Turner is probably available. He’s not that much of an upgrade over Ayton. He doesn’t board.

 

Even with Luka, we get absolutely embarrassed by Los Spurs.

 

Ayton isn’t really a problem on offense(most nights). It’s the defense: too slow to react in most situations that involve him having to leave the paint or do anything against good drivers.
I get it- it’s going to take a lot to significantly improve here, but I’ve seen enough of the Hayes/Auton tandem to know it ain’t a Chip one.
