Say the quiet part out loud slick. He’s too black!!!! Too loud!!!!!! Like we knew it but we didn’t want to say it. Bill Russell arguably best C bag ever and he refused to go back. They put feces all over his door when he won them a championship. That’s Boston for you. Brown wins them a championship but he better shut up. KG never wanted to go there. We know what happened with Kyrie. It’s well documented. The place just isn’t desired for the Brothas.

Ime getting nice with the snow bunny they got his a** up outa there. Funny cause Mazzula had something similar. Boston has never been the best town. They just try to make it that.

Yeah this one blew my mind. Wasn't expecting Minny to dump Randle like that and Claxton to be available for nothing.
My only guess is that Minny wouldn't deal with us as we're conference rivals.
Makes sense for the Bulls too as they had a hole in center. Great fit there, very athletic team with a good coach, Bulls are building something.
I guess Minny is really believing in Shannon and it might pay off

On Nets side I see this as a clear response to the new lottery rules. They are really bad and need good players to not be that bad. They also don't have big salaries so they can pay Randle for a couple years.

Ramifications for us from both deals:
    - Portis is no longer available
    - Chicago and Nets have less cap space. Helps with AR and other pending salary dumps like Braun, Cam Johnson, Dort...
    - wondering what the Bucks do with Herro, Ware, Turner and Kuzma. They may have additional ramifications for us

Glad Giannis novel is over. Draft is today and further dominos will fall. We're in good position to do something, big day for us today

    https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profo...ll-foley-wants-to-bring-nba-team-to-las-vegas

Golden Knights owner Bill Foley has announced that he will be pursuing an NBA franchise. Foley has hired Morgan Stanley to serve as the “exclusive financial adviser” in an effort to “structure an ownership platform” that will be built around his existing holding.

“Las Vegas has earned its place among the great sports cities in America, and an NBA team belongs here,” Foley said.

Yep. Claxton is ok but at this point with Hayes slight improvement i dont think is he really that much better than Jackson Hayes. The $$

Relieved we didn't do something stupid like giving 2 firsts for Claxton like a lot of people here wanted us to.

Julius Randle has a career playoff record of 22 wins and 20 losses. As a 3rd to 2nd option fringe star at 30mil. Imagine if Randle was making 40ish mil. If teams run out of spending power Lakers must be true to themselves and not hand out a bad contract. 30-35 mil tops.

Giannis has a 44-40 record. Exactly the same ratio as Randle.
What's your read about those 2 players? They are similar value right?

guess i'm between the poles on claxton. advanced stats haven't liked him lately, but i do think that losing teams can cause that problem, and claxton's not the kind of player that can change that on his own. his salary isn't bad at all, imo. 4th/5th starter-level salary for a guy who i think can give you 30mpg as a starter on a good team.

problem for chicago is that as of now, he slots in as their 3rd best player, and i think he's a weird fit if you have buzelis at pf. maybe they plan to play stout 4.

i would have liked to get claxton, but if the nets wanted a player back for him, we weren't going to be in that running.

shaping up like the second straight year of centers being in high demand, which sucks for teams wanting centers. i'm just not interested in paying heavily for an average one, tbh.

as for the rest of it, i wasn't shocked that minny was dumping randle; felt like that was obvious. they were peddling him/ddv/their 1st all over the league. only having to drop 5 spots in the draft to dump him was the surprising part. they avoided a bidding war on dosunmu and signed him for what could be below market value, and now they have the full mle AND that giant TE. they have more avenues to improvement than we do, lol. connelly is a good gm, imo. his big glaring mistake was trading those future firsts for dillingham, but he didn't fall into a sunk cost trap, used dillingham to get dosunmu as a pre-agency move, and managed to dump 33 million in salary for the player he probably most wanted to move, converting all that into the ability to eat/sign maybe two useful players.

the record is not the key its the who they play with or role. Kobe and Fisher has the same record and Robert Horry has more rings than MJ. We dont put then in the same category. Giannis is a # 1 option on his team and lead that team to a title. I listed Randle as 2nd or3rd option a fringe star. Dlo was an allstar at the same time you dont go around making them the best player on your team if a title is the goal. Randle to Nets is anyone thinking championship?

Exactly. Glad we're on the same page that playoff record is a meaningless stat
