That guy is not a lob-threat.

Shocked me as well. That’s easily a 60m overpay. It signals that they’re probably taking AJ in the draft, you don’t draft Peterson if you have Trae on 50m a year and Tre Johnson as your SG.

I believe Washington have a team.

    Trae (Brunson) / Bub
Tre (Off Ball Scorer) / Hardy / Riley
    AJ (Primary Option) / Champagnie
George (Swiss Army Knife) / Bilal
    Sarr (Rim Protector) /

If I’m then, I’m trading AD for Butler and #11. Get yourself another big like Mara and develop that team. You’ll be the best in the East in 2-3 years.

Gives a different option. More physical, great hands, motor, rebounder. For a team that needs to carry 3 centers. Thats on the asumption if da opts out.

    mavs fan trade idea:

our part of the deal would be vando/knecht/#25 for gafford.

pretty sure denver doesn't do this, but i'd love it.

Some of what you said is true but over the top on the trade him part. The only time Lakers should trade him is if they see a young stud in the draft. Other than that you role with the good and the bad. Now if he continues to be injured and or when he hits are 33 you move on. Luka at 34 would be an old 34 at that point you start to rebuild. Don't keep riding until the thread starts showing.

It feels like Gafford is more realistic at this point. Possibly from Rob's perspective, he is probably terrified of blowing the #25, and Gafford is the "safe" option. He is at the very lease a top 8 rotation player, and would likely be the starter, and he obvioulsy has history and a strong connection with Luka. Being able to obtain Gafford, while dumping Vando and only giving up one pick would be a homerun.

The more realistic and cleaner option (for Dallas) might be LaRavia + Knecht + #25 for Gafford + #49. If Ayton opts in he could be included as well, but he would have to make that decision soon.

Gafford would be amazing, but I think Ware has a much bigger upside if available.

I agree that Ware has much bigger upside, but I'm having my doubts about him being available.

LaRavia + Knecht + #25 for Gafford + #49 makes sense. Proof-of-concept with Luka and Lakers have worked out several players in that #49 range.

analytics really like Sharpe as a good backup center - wonder if it's the rebounding that makes a big difference

In today's market he is about 8-10 mill over paid as a franchise player, floor general and a player that can be marketed to sell tickets.

We need a starting lob threat. But sharpe wld be perfect backup. We need someone down low that can do dirty work. Elite offenive rebounder and the motor.
