Im new here. Have not seen anybody talk about this. If james were to sign for x amount. Lets say he at most plays. 2 years. We wont be able to replace his production . We will still be over cap. Unless we sign every body other than reaves & donic.that has similar years in which they think james retiring. I think donic had 2 years left anyways.

May not be able to replace his production but can replace him with a better fit. It depends. Go for depth over front loaded talent that overlap. I think its proven Lakers wont win with Lebron/Austin or Luka/Lebron/Austin no depth. Both cases they got out classed. The common belief is they improve on the margins and rerun it with the success they had in March. Being healthy would give them a better shot. I like the idea of Lebron on smaller contract more years get the help. At the same time i wont mind if they move on if they wont be a serious contender. It all depends. If they are not a true contender i rather they draft and develop play Adou and drafted Player than being on the sideline and end up like Dalton.

The one thing this team needs is depth & for j J to trust it. Cant have reaves, donic if james comes back playing so many minutes. Have to experierment during season even if cost games. See what you have in young guys etc.So you can be fresh once playoffs hit. And we need more 6'7 plus dudes.

Do you live in California? Even if you don't, I'm sure you're aware of the tax, cost of living, etc. Texas doesn't have state tax nor a jock tax like CA. Couple that with his love for Dallas and a possibly transcendent star in Cooper, I still favor the Lakers to retain him, but it's not as clsoe as we think if they f*** up this roster build.

I felt JJ was part blame for the injures. Not in that way but for not playing the depth and allow Luka And Austin to do to much on games that hardly mattered. I have no clue what was his deal with Van.

No way van can be back. Jj and him have a wierd relationship and he doesnt use him right on defense. Even tho his offense is short coming. For a team they had. He is a valuable rebouder & hustsle guy

Now a Dort and Stewart combination, has some umph to it. That's just enough of a physicality upgrade, to make keeping Smart and Ayton, a plausible plan IMO.
Man stop dancing, and just say that YOU:KobePoint:

Don't believe Luka, Austin and Lebron can win. Stop with this BS " It's been proven " crap. It's a friggin fan message board... Just state your opinions, and then stand on them!

The only thinng thst has me worried about those 2. Dort was unplayable vs spurs. Cant trust his 3 point shot. Which only thing he offers on offense. Stewart was also getting out played by paul reed against. Cavs. Foul prong. But for depth i would be all for. Added toughness

Ware has had issues with his motor and intensity in Miami. It’s one of the reasons he is available.

Really nice buy low target. Just like Spencer Jones, these guys play defense, can shoot and can finish at the rim.

I assume their going to opt out to sign him to a longer contract, but if they don't, he is a breakout 3&D candidate like Spence is.

Yes thease are the players we need to be interested in. We have already been burned by 2 ex heat players. Even thou ware has intriguing upside. He has question marks. If spo sparingly played him it was for reason. He normal makes all young players look good. But we dont have anybody on team that wld have that upside. So wld be interested.

I didn't see him pull any dirty tricks during the playoffs, so you may be right. I just get dry heaves thinking about it.

I’m not ready to throw in the towel on this offseason yet. I feel like we’ve got a few moves up our sleeves. But yes, if we strike out this summer he’s done.

I haven’t lived in California but visit fairly frequently. I have lived in Texas for a bit and have relatives all over that state. They loved Luka no doubt. And the money difference is real.

But, that was also the only place Luka had lived here. He had nothing to compare it to at the time. He’s also legit angry at the franchise. I think we’ve got a great shot to keep him but we have to actively improve the roster. Can’t be some 2029 plan or whatever.

I think Luka would like nothing more than to win in a new location especially after Brunson just did it.

if we take care of the roster I trust Walter and crew to figure out how to make the money work.
