I’m on the same page. Kessler is my second most desirable center, Ware is only above him because of his salary - but Kessler is the better player.

I just don’t see a scenario where he would be available, unless it’s Reaves and 2 firsts. And I don’t do that trade. Utah ultimately resigns him for 160m for 5 years I think. I don’t see us having the appetite to offer him the full max either.

Thats because his value is somewhere in the middle. Some overrate and some underrate. It falls somewhere in the middle. Trey is a 3/d which is in high demand. Once Austin gets paid his value becomes more stable and less attractive because a higher expectation will follow. They are different pieces on their value would depend on need. ,,, https://www.landofbasketball.com/player_comparison/trey_murphy_iii_vs_austin_reaves.htm What would have helped Austin case is a strong playoff performance. So now your left potential. Is he another Bronson or a Kuzma or a Poole. Thats the gamble they would be taking. Once you become the lone star everything changes.

I agree and I know Bynum was a lottery pick. But the jump year two for Bynum was incredible. Kobe had the famous ship his a** out for Kidd for Jason Kidd of course and that was an all nba player. Bynum lost weight and was a force looking like a top 5 Center so you can’t rush it. He was one of the reasons we won the championship. So you might ship Adou out and he comes back with a jump shot and looks like Jalen Williams looks like a defensive force. With Brunson we know what second round picks can become. Adou has shown flashes of the athleticism that we need. And we need 3-D just as much. With guys like LeBron Reaves you gonna need that depth.

I gurantee you Reaves on his own team is Luka light and at least 26 points 5 rebounds 5 assists as the primary ball handler. You’re selling him too short.

This is so overblown. Missing our franchise player with the best perimeter defenders on the best defensive team in the league keying on him …. these were his scoring numbers and we were in every game until running out of rotation players and gas. Probably at around 80-85% health after coming back a couple weeks earlier than normal for the level of oblique strain he had. Only the first game truly was poor getting points up. What hot shot guard against OKC these playoffs did better?

Austin Reaves averaged 20.8 points across the 4-game playoff series against the Oklahoma City Thunder, highlighted by a 31-point outburst in Game 2. [1, 2]
His game-by-game scoring breakdown during the series: [1]
    • Game 1: 8 points
    • Game 2: 31 points
    • Game 3: 17 points
    • Game 4: 27 points [1, 2]

I suggested a Kennard + #25 for Stewart as a way to send them a shooter and a pick while staying over the cap. But if it’s a three team trade, I wonder if we’re trying to send Vando to the bucks and Knecht to Detroit instead.

I think Stewart is a no brainer for the #25 if we can make it happen. Good contract, good player, low cost.

I would say 22-23 ppg if i had to bet with defensive locking in and the grind of 82 games. But i agree 26 is within possibility with free throws. The real issue will be the win rate and if the NBA address foul baiting which has become a talking point.

This is another ignorant take because of your AR’s not perfect obsession. Don’t even put him in SGA conversation. Or Luka. Both these guys good luck stopping them from getting to the rim or getting a decent shot for them off WITHOUT fouling them. THEIR intent is to score the ball not flop with no honest attempt.

I mentioned Claxton and Stewart above as my ideal center rotation. Here are some other trades/moves I think could be interesting:

    - S&T Rui, Jake & Ayton for Gordon & Spencer Jones.

Allows Denver to get off a tough contract without picks, save enough money to sign Watson and get some rotation players in Rui, Jake and Ayton.

We take a risk on Gordon’s health and age - that contract is a tough one if he is damaged goods. I also think Spencer is a better version of Jake.

    - Signing Malik Beasley to the room or a part of the MLE. He was an excellent shooter a year before the issues. 42% on 9.3 attempts.

    - Ellis/Thybulle for a part of the MLE

    - Jalen Suggs in a trade

    - Isaiah Joe / Aaron Wiggins / Lu Dort absorption

Yes but not as the #1 option. Lebron was still there. In games without Luka or Lebron he avg 23ppg. I think he would be around that mark until fatigue or injury take in

The NBA Competition Committee is reviewing flopping and foul-baiting tactics during its summer meetings. Following persistent playoff controversies, Commissioner Adam Silver announced the league will analyze over 1,000 game plays to determine if stricter in-game technicals, ejections, or rule adjustments are required to curb unnatural offensive movements. Its no secret he falls in that category and that could affect his game like it did James Harden.

@Idawg I’m talking about this notion he crapped the bed in the playoffs of yours. “What would have helped Austin case is a strong playoff performance”

What guards over 4 or more games out of all the young can’t miss 2 way hot shots, or established guards had better scoring numbers? Against OKC’s best defense in the league. Tell me!
