    Regarding Clowney:
He has the hottest prototype in the NBA. Long wing that can shoot and protect the rim. It's natural to draw attention

I don't think anyone here have watched all nets games. Hell, not even nets fans watched much of their games. So yeah, maybe he has a lack of motor and mentality, but he is young in a team with no vets and no purpose. It's natural to get lost. It's a totally different vibe in a serious franchise playing alongside greats and where you either perform or you're out.

I'm loving these nets' fans feedback. I'd totally buy low on that and try to get him for Knecht or in a bigger deal for Claxton. Sign me up!
    Would love Mann too

Claxton, Clowney, Mann for Ayton, Vando, Knecht, Smith and 2 picks. They free 17M and go after a RFA. Maybe we save a pick

That gives us depth and lengthy players that can all play with Luka/AR

Not disagreeing with his potential. But he's not worth 3 first rounders as someone was suggesting.

And I don't watch Nets games but I have coworkers and acquaintances who are Nets fans and they don't think highly of him. Granted, they're not a winning team or trying to win so not much of a barometer to blame Clowney but he's also not doing himself any favors by having a team with not much expectations and playing subpar basketball. 6'10 with his frame should be average more rebounds than 5 PER36. Good length but what does he really do with it? You would think he'd be a double-double rebounder with how athletic and long he is. And why settle for so many threes? Get your a** to the rim.

Would a change of scenery and environment help him? Absolutely. Does it mean he's worth gambling more than a 1st rounder on? Hell no.

i'm not going to go digging, but i'm guessing our local librarian knows the previous exchange to which i'm referring.

i really don't care what Astros thinks about me. i do think it's telling that this person is trying to use an offhand claim to invalidate all opinions, almost like...it really personally matters to them.

i'm also not the person who showed up this morning guns blazing on a weird mission to start a fight.

anyway, luka's a perennial mvp candidate. glad he's a laker. wouldn't trade him for SGA or giannis.

I don't know where this a-list stuff came from but it's vague and confusing a lot of folks. Sounds like corporate speak or some sort of hollywood stuff. They interviewed Luka himself and he plainly said he wants a center who could jump high and block shots. That's really not asking for much. The a list comment has people over here catgegorizing what qualifies as a-list, etc. Matter of fact, most perceived "a-list centers" are post heavy, thereofore not clean fits with Luka anyway. Most are likely not avaivalbe anyway. I mean you are talking about the Embidds, the Jokic's, the Wembys, KATS, Holmgrens, Bams, Sabonisis, Senguins, Goberts, Durens, Allens, Porzingisis, etc. Weeding thru those names, Wemby, Chet, Rudy, Duren, Allen really fit Luka. Obviously I would make a huge exception for Jokic. Maybe we could get Chet- doubt it? Rudy is a-list. Duren budding a-list but RFA-unlikley. So we are realistically talking Gobert or Jarrett in that a-list category. There are plenty of other centers that jump high and block shots that are not house hold names, role the red carpet a-list. Even Jarrett seems to like to post up his share- watch the tape. Gobert is a "name" but is current him really better than the Kesslers, Missis, Robert Williams's of the world in terms of jumping and shot blocking?

yeah, given that one of the names he gave the FO upon getting here was mark williams, i don't think he's demanding the world.

i do think it could be construed as a bit of a shot at ayton. which is fine; ayton probably deserves it a bit. but it's gotta be a bit awkward sharing an agent and being like...get me a real center.

Yeah I wonder if Luka said specifically "a list" lol come on man are you kidding me whats up with these folks? He wants the Denzel of NBA center or what? No, he just needs a good supporting cast, thats it. He just wants a big that could jump and block shots- its not rocket science. But we have a ton of folks taking that a-list comment literally lol.

Sounds like maybe Jarrett Allen tbh, if it was literal a-list. Cavs should move Mobley to center anyway. They would need a 4. Maybe LaRavia, Knecht, 25th pick, 2031 1st, 2033 2nd for Allen. Luka here is your a-list center.

I 100% agree with both you and Atros. Gafford wasn't a high dollar center. He is an athletic big that plays defense hard, sets a hard screen and rolls hard to the rim. That's all that is required at the 5 with Luka. PJ is a stud defender with a mean streak like Smart. He can hit 3s. Luka is the kind of player you can build an MJ style team around. MJ's Bulls were filled with hard nosed defenders who could shoot. Then, you had Kerr come off the bench to hit 3s.

I see Kennard as a huge piece with Luka. You get a healthy 5 that is athletic, defends, rebounds, set screens and rolls hard and that's your guy. PJ Washington, Herb Jones type guy on the 3/4 and you are set. AR and Luka will play together and space out so one is playing with the bench. Bring Smart off the bench with Kennard and a couple of young defenders with Hayes at the 4 and that's a good looking team.
