Agree Knicks are being underrated. The point differential was huge once Brown changed the offense.

They got the exact type of team to make life tough for SAS. A burly center who can stretch the floor, physical guys, and a bunch of wing defenders with size to throw at the SAS guards. And with Hart Robinson etc they can rebound which hurt SAS vs OKC

The Knicks are playing the best ball in the league. They aren't a fluke, and I don't see why they are considered, to be the underdogs. They should be the favorites in the East next season too.

Holmgren is trash- I would be asking for like four of OKC’s youth over his weak minded self.
I’m still here. They are deep, they just got beat by a better team. The Spurs top four are better than OKC’s.
JDub was unavailable, but I still think they lose if he plays.

Wait, Chet is “a good second option.”
According to what we just saw, he isn’t.
    Good Regular Season Performer.
He gets this year’s “Harden Award” for biggest choker in the playoffs.
    Well done.
How well have his Shaq comments aged?

That's a workable roster plan. I have a different idea though, I'm keeping the bulk of your idea, with two wrinkles.

I'm looking to trade Austin and Dalton, to Memphis, for Ja and GG Jackson first. Then Flip Morant and Vando to Washington for AD. I believe that's a bit under 4M short but we could absorb that into our capspace. Or add Jake.

I'd then follow the rest of your plan, with the caveat, of adding Ellis and an athletic Rookie prospect, in the upcoming draft. So the youth infusion would be...Jones, Jackson, Thiero, Bronny, Ellis, and the draft pick. I'd let Luke walk.

That's an influx of youth, athleticism and energy. This should be extremely valuable during the regular season.

I'd take Dort for Vando and Jake, he's a Marcus Smart in his physical prime. My desire to trade for him specifically, also comes with the desire , of getting that 17th pick for a future FRP, as part of the deal. That way we'd have two FRP in the upcoming draft 17 and 25. We could flip those two picks, into a top 10 draft pick, that could become our next star.

One thing I will say about the Thunder is this.

J Williams is a damn good player; he was All NBA and All NBA Defense last season. That guy is not a scrub, he was missed in that series. As I said in our series, those guys are definitely beatable without him.

Oh, he was definitely missed, no doubt. OKC could not score enough, but that's modern NBA for you. Health matters.

Disgusting. I turned the game on, saw that play and turned it off. Thanks Sliver for creating an unwatchable product.

Easy fix if an offensive player jumps so the defender doesn't have a safe landing space it's an offensive foul. Just like if a defender takes away safe landing space it's a defensive foul

Castle hits the floor more than SGA IMO. He has to chill on some of that stuff. He tends to just throw himself into people recklessly, trying to force a call.

Don't mean to be an a**, but that's NBA for you no matter the era. MJ doesn't win one chip without Scottie, and they missed not only their No.2 but also probably their No. 5.

Absolutely, but it does seem that certain types of injuries are more common today than they were in the past. We've talked about this many times already. Still, I agree with your point in principle.

Yeah yeah, it is a game of matchups and the Knicks almost swept San Antonio this season. They beat them in the cup final. Then blew them out after. They beat them at the end of the season when the spurs were on an 11 game win streak. The only win the spurs had was when they came back from down 20 to win by 2. Champagnie had to hit 11 threes to get that win - a franchise record.

I think Knicks-Spurs going to be a classic. Goes 6 to 7 games, and I think Spurs will edge it out. I think SAS got a level in their play that the Knicks won't be able to match.

Knicks do have some matchup advantages with their bigs/wings and did blow out the Spurs in the NBA Cup finals, but I think SAS have grown a lot since then and are more battle tested.

Although Knicks got KAT and Robinson for Wemby, he has played Gobert/Reid, Holmgren/Hartenstein. I think he's going to rise to the occasion. I'm not sure the Knicks can force Wemby into midrange/post up game, which still needs a lot of development.

The other flip side is that Brunson isn't going to face James Harden anymore. SAS were able to slow SGA down besides game 7 and I don't see why they can't slow Brunson down.

If Knicks keep shooting 40% as a team, they’re going to win this series. SAS and OKC defend the interior really well and still get out to contest the first shot. But when a team can swing it once or twice more and still have a 40% shooter on the end of that, they’re giving open 3’s away.

I also think Wemby has to guard one of the guys in a 5 out offense. He can’t camp out in the paint. It’s a tough matchup for the Spurs in my opinion.
