And be in the play in or lottery next season? Who is going to sign and trade, for a 42 year old about to retire LeBron?

It's almost like we've seen this before, on some random online forum.

There is a desire for better center play, true lob threats who mimic the skills of Daniel Gafford and Dereck Lively II (with cleaner injury histories). There is a desire for true two-way defensive players, wings with athleticism and energy on the defensive end and a sweet shooting stroke on the offensive side of the ball. And there’s a desire to lock in a long-term secondary playmaker next to Dončić

Interesting that POA isn't mentioned. Size length and athleticism. Sounds about right to me. Are we questioning Reaves as that longterm secondary playmaker?

to me, the fascinating part is the beginning. we'd heard a bit about it, but the fact that it took until that late in the season to come to the realization that lebron would need to adjust is wild.

    ouch and true.

also true, despite being incendiary around here.

sounds like the plan is to pursue giannis without including reaves, which will be a brief pursuit, lol.

sounds like a lot of folks are gone, imo.

Hopefully it quickly pivots to, OK how can we help? (as a 3rd facilitating team)

That's a much more interesting and beneficial conversation for our roster build than The Greek Drama Freak

Lot of dead weight to cut loose, just hoping we are willing to attach a positive asset to come off a bad one or at least blend it (New Orleans trade) cause financially and roster space wise that's the only way you're getting rid of DK and Vando.

Yeah, I figured as much. Now that we have proof that the Lakers want to get these players for Luka, maybe folks here could get more on the same page.

I don't expect much in return for LeBron. But let's say this is case. If no one would sign and trade for him why should Lakers resign him. If he was coming off the bench at 42 in a more limited role and not teamed with two none athletic defensive liabilities cool.topped that off with Ayton Luke and Rui.!we can see where this team can use a bit more hustle and energy guys.

We might end up far enough under the 1st or 2nd apron where Knecht could be waived, and we just eat the contract, it's expiring. But he could also be good filler in a trade.

To be honest I would rather be a lottery team for one season and getting a good pick and Player for Luka vs being decent all season and be bounced in the 1st round

If we had Luka we'd still be playing right now. At least tied 2-2. To be honest I have no idea what reality JJ is speaking from; if he somehow expected to beat OKC without Luka. That being said..the Championship or bust mantra is the proper expectation to set moving forward.

We were a lottery team like 5 years and had pretty good luck with the ping pong balls and had to ship 3 of the best out plus multiple picks to get one for LeBron. Feeling lucky eh?

This is because JJ sees Austin and Luke lol . Literally no one expected Lakers to beat OKC without Luka lol

If we ended up in the lottery with a healthy Luka;a lot of folks are getting fired.

JJ thinks this is the first time a duo of LeBron and Austin faced a good team. All I will say it was the same results a quick easy round for their opponent
