he mentions it above, but i'm hoping he and luka both take some lessons from having watched the team come together in their absence. i don't know that it's their fault, but it feels like the role players relax too much when we have the big guns, luka, in particular.
I think it's human psychology, you just naturally defer to the 'leader', the one responsible for making it happen. When they're not there you just increase your level of responsibility and do more. But yeah the ideal is to find that level while having your big guns
get that big contract, AR Good to go Wednesday April 29, 2026 Reaves (oblique) is available for Wednesday's Game 5 of the Western Conference first-round series against the Rockets, Shams Charania of ESPN
He played ok for a first game back, but man I feel like we just reverted to so much ISO because of it, went away from that ball movement that had us winning the earlier games.
Lots of that ball movement disappeared in game 4 I feel. Ball movement works really well when guys are hitting shots and the defense is rotating like crazy, but Kennard going cold has slowed things down. Anyways, nice to have AR back, he fought hard defensively.
The rust was apparent especially in his shooting percentage tonight. A month off will do that. He did still have nice drives. This one was not on AR.
Btw the last time AR took a month off, he went 3-9 for 15 pts in the first game, then the next game he went 12-17 for 35 pts in 25 minutes
If Reaves doesn't get to the FT line, his game struggles... his shot selection also isn't the best. Tough to see where the near max comes into play if he doesn't improve that part of his game. Not entirely sure why he stands so far past the 3 point line and chucks it when he could have easily stepped in closer. Plenty of time. Shouldn't have let Rockets catch momentum there.
Can’t defend. Can’t handle playoffs intensity. Struggles against long physical defenders. Fully expect this BS to resurface next series, regardless of him handling a variety of defenders on this one. Did just fine.
This is that type of "journalism" that I despise. There is no way ANYONE can get EXPOSED after missing a month. Piss off, ESPN.
